The event will bring together members of the set from across Nigeria and the diaspora, alongside former teachers, traditional rulers, students, old students and other guests.
The reunion is being led by the Set President, Dr. Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein, the first female and immediate past Accountant-General of the Federation.
In a release by the media consultant to Dr Madein, Mr Temit?p? Oyekan, the planning committee chaired by Mr. Dayo James Akerele, noted the programme is designed to celebrate 45 years of friendship, shared memories, professional accomplishments and continued commitment to the development of the school and its host community.
Activities will begin on Thursday, with the arrival of members and a meet-and-greet session, providing an opportunity for classmates to reconnect and rekindle friendships built during their years at Christ Apostolic Grammar School.
On Friday, members will embark on a rally and pay visits to traditional rulers before participating in a career talk for students of the school.
The session is expected to inspire and mentor students through the professional experiences and life lessons of members of the 1981 set.
The day’s programme will also feature a Jumat service at Iperu Central Mosque, reflecting the set’s commitment to religious inclusiveness and interfaith harmony.
A novelty football match at the school’s play field will follow, while the day’s events will end with a gala night of entertainment and fellowship.
The final event will hold on Saturday, at the Christ Apostolic Grammar School Multi-Purpose Hall. One of the major highlights will be the inauguration of projects executed by the 1981 set as part of its contribution to the development and advancement of its alma mater.
Former teachers and members of the set will be honoured for their invaluable contributions and lasting impact on the institution.
The occasion will equally feature the launch of the 45th anniversary compendium, documenting the history, milestones, experiences and achievements of the graduating set over the past four and a half decades.
Other highlights of the celebration include the cutting of the cake, a fundraising session, a wine-and-dine reception and an anniversary dance.
The four-day reunion will conclude on Sunday, with a thanksgiving service at Christ Apostolic Church, Iperu-Remo.
