An electrical problem that disrupted Airport Rail Link services on Thursday morning has been resolved, with trains returning to their normal schedules at 9.30am, the operator said.
The power outage that began on Wednesday night resulted in no electricity for trains between the Lat Krabang and Ban Thap Chang stations, heading towards Phaya Thai.
Passengers travelling towards Suvarnabhumi airport had to wait for trains to switch tracks at Hua Mak, as trains from Hua Mak to Suvarnabhumi were one-way only.
Trains on the Airport Rail Link normally run every 10-15 minutes but the outage reduced services to once every 30 minutes.
Thursday’s incident was the second disruption on the Airport Rail Link in just over a week. A derailment at the Khlong Tan depot on July 22 reduced train frequencies to once an hour and lasted all day.
