Chairman of Bariga Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State, Honourable Adedeji Bukola Omope, has assured residents that the council’s doors remain open to new ideas, complaints, and suggestions, urging them to freely engage with the leadership at any time.
Omope gave the assurance during a stakeholders’ forum organised to commemorate her administration’s first year in office in Lagos.
She reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to building strong partnerships with relevant stakeholders across the LCDA to achieve its vision of creating a more prosperous, cleaner, safer, and inclusive community.
According to the chairman, the decision to organise the forum was driven by the administration’s determination to improve the socio-economic well-being of residents through continuous engagement while identifying and addressing their aspirations and challenges.
Presenting her administration’s one-year scorecard before traditional rulers, religious leaders, Community Development Associations, market leaders, youth organisations, women’s groups, civil servants, political leaders, security agencies, and development partners, Omope highlighted achievements in road construction, drainage projects, environmental sanitation, and flood control initiatives.
She also listed improvements in healthcare, educational support, youth and women’s empowerment, ICT development, agricultural intervention, social welfare, security, and staff welfare among the administration’s accomplishments.
‘We have also prioritised the safety of lives and property through collaboration with security agencies, provision of operational support, installation of solar-powered street lights in strategic locations, and continuous engagement with community stakeholders,’ she said.
Commending the LCDA chairman, the Lagos State Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaja Rofiat Eletu, expressed delight over the stakeholders’ forum, describing it as a commendable initiative that would further strengthen collaboration and promote inclusive governance within the LCDA.
