Heavy rainfall is expected over several areas in Luzon due to Tropical Depression Luis, according to the state weather bureau on Monday.
In its 11 a.m. heavy rainfall outlook, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) warned that accumulated rainfall in Pangasinan may exceed 200 millimeters from Monday to Tuesday, prompting possible severe flooding and landslides in the province.
Pagasa likewise said that the following areas are projected to experience 100 to 200 millimeters of rainfall: La Union

Pagasa noted that rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas, and antecedent rainfall could intensify the effects of Luis.
Meanwhile, the weather bureau said heavy to intense downpours in Occidental Mindoro and moderate to heavy rains in Antique are forecast from Tuesday to Wednesday due to the prevailing southwest monsoon, or ‘habagat.’
In a separate 11 a.m. advisory, Pagasa said Luis was last spotted 165 kilometers east of Echague, Isabela, carrying maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 55 kph.
It is moving northward at 15 kph.
