Iran’s High Council for Human Rights Secretary Nasser Seraj stated on Saturday that no military or geopolitical goal can justify the killing of children, referring to the United States’ strike on the Minab school, which left over 160 schoolgirls dead.
Seraj noted that the international community responds to Iranian victims with double standards. “If human rights are universal, their observance must also be universal,” he said.
Seraj also stressed that “the fight against terrorism should not be directed solely at non-state groups … the international community must take a unified position against any organized use of violence against civilians, regardless of the identity of the perpetrators.”
