Thirteen years after the death of former Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Kokumo Agagu, friends, associates, political leaders, academics and members of the high society gathered in Lagos to honour the memory of the late politician and geologist.
The occasion was the 13th Year Remembrance Lecture held at Civic Towers, Victoria Island, Lagos, where distinguished guests reflected on the life, career and enduring legacy of the former governor.
Agagu, who governed Ondo State from 2003 to 2009, was remembered for his contributions to public service and his years of service at both the state and federal levels.
The gathering provided an opportunity for old friends and associates of the late governor to reconnect while recalling his time in public office and his contributions to the development of Ondo State.
Speakers at the event highlighted different aspects of Agagu’s life, from his professional background as a geologist to his political career and his years of public service. His commitment to education, governance and the development of his home state also featured prominently in the tributes.
The atmosphere at Civic Towers was a blend of solemn remembrance and warm nostalgia, as guests shared memories of the late governor and reflected on the impact he made during his lifetime.
Former political associates, colleagues, family members and friends took turns to pay tribute to a man they described as a politician whose life was defined by public service, intellectual depth and dedication to his people.
The lecture also served as a meeting point for members of the political and social elite, with prominent personalities from Ondo State and beyond in attendance.
Though 13 years have passed since his death, the gathering in Lagos demonstrated that memories of the former governor remain firmly etched in the hearts of his family, friends, associates and admirers.
