All is set for the Ubahuagboba Ubahu Okija Youth Election scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, as the Electoral Committee, led by Dr. Frank Igbojindu, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Akpoazaa Group, intensifies preparations for a peaceful, transparent and credible electoral exercise.
The election, which will take place at Obom Ubahuagboba by 12 noon, will produce a new 12-member youth executive drawn from the two major kindreds of the community, Umuchuma and Umuelim.
The exercise will be conducted through the Option A4 Open Ballot System, where accredited voters openly queue behind their preferred candidates.
In keeping with the community’s leadership rotation arrangement, the position of Youth Chairman has been zoned to Umuelim Kindred, following the outgoing administration led by Mr. Social Ezeadina of Umuchuma Kindred.
The 12 executive positions have been shared equally between both kindreds, with six positions allocated to each.
The chairmanship election will be contested by Chigozie Agbasi and Tochukwu Udennaka, both from Umuelim Kindred.
Other positions include Vice Chairman, Secretary General, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations Officer, Assistant Secretary, Assistant PRO, Director of Welfare, Director of Social, Provost and Assistant Provost.
The Electoral Committee conducted its screening exercise on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the residence of the President General of Ubahuagboba.
A total of 24 aspirants submitted nomination forms for the 12 executive positions.
Following the exercise, 16 aspirants were cleared, while eight were disqualified, including six who failed to attend the screening and two who did not satisfy the committee’s screening requirements.
The committee subsequently reopened nominations for the position of Director of Welfare, zoned to Umuchuma Kindred, after both initial aspirants failed to attend screening.
The supplementary nomination process is expected to conclude before the election.
The Electoral Committee is chaired by Dr. Frank Igbojindu, (Akuyienwataegwu na Okija) CEO of Akpoazaa Group.
Other members include Hon. Ezesinachi, President General of Ubahuagboba; Ichie Ikemba; Mr. Nonso Onyejiaka; and Ichie Omesirika.
Dr. Igbojindu emphasised the importance of fairness, transparency and peaceful participation, noting that the exercise is intended to strengthen youth leadership and promote unity between Umuchuma and Umuelim Kindreds.
The committee has also encouraged aspirants and their supporters to channel complaints through appropriate procedures rather than engage in activities capable of undermining the electoral process.
Election Scheduled for November 2, 2026 by 12:00 PM at Obom Ubahuagboba, Ubahu Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area, Anambra State.
Eligible youths from both kindreds are expected to participate in the exercise, which will usher in a new executive leadership for the community.
