Mutharika ropes Roza Mbilizi, George Patridge into partial cabinet

…..Mutharika strengthens his administration with strategic appointments in agriculture and industry to boost Malawi’s economic recovery and food security.

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-President Peter Mutharika has appointed Roza Mbilizi as the new Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development.

The appointment places Mbilizi at the helm of one of Malawi’s most critical ministries, which oversees food production, irrigation development, and water resource management.

Mbilizi, known for her administrative and leadership experience, is expected to steer the agricultural sector toward enhanced productivity and sustainable growth.

In the same statement, President Mutharika also appointed George Patridge as the Minister of Industrialization, Business, Trade and Tourism.

Patridge’s new role will see him driving the government’s agenda of promoting industrial development, boosting trade, and positioning Malawi as a competitive destination for business and tourism.

According to a media statement from the Office of the President and Cabinet, the appointments were announced through a communiqué signed by the Chief Secretary to the Government, Justin Saidi.

The statement emphasized that the appointments are with immediate effect, signaling the President’s intent to ensure continuity and swift action in implementing government policies.

These ministerial changes are seen as part of President Mutharika’s broader effort to reinvigorate his cabinet and deliver on key national priorities such as economic growth, food security, and job creation.

Observers say the appointments could inject new energy into the administration, especially in sectors that are vital to Malawi’s economic transformation.

Both Mbilizi and Patridge are expected to bring renewed focus and innovation to their respective ministries as Malawi continues to navigate challenges in agriculture, industry, and trade.

Influencer Emilie Kiser Is ‘No Longer’ Sharing Content About Her Sons

Influencer Emilie Kiser has returned to sharing her life online after the death of 3-year-old son Trigg — but she’s still keeping parts of herself from the cameras.

“I just want to say, you are seeing such a small, small, small sliver of my life right now,” Kiser said in a Monday, October 13, TikTok. “I’m not sharing my kids anymore. Therefore, I’m not sharing Teddy and I’m not sharing Trigg.”

In the emotional video, Kiser defended her decision to not open up about Trigg’s death — at least not yet.

“I’m doing my best and I’m showing a very small portion because I’m not ready to share other things. I’m not ready to talk about other things and that is OK,” she continued. “Those are the things that I’m unpacking in my therapy sessions and with professionals and with my family. Those are not things that I think I should be coming on the internet and unpacking with millions of people.”

Influencer Emilie Kiser’s Family Photos Before Son Trigg’s Death

Emilie, who shares her sons with husband Brady Kiser, also sent a message to critics who claim she’s not grieving properly by returning to her social media presence.

“For people to say, ‘If this were me, I would just be crippled and I would be thinking about them all day and I wouldn’t be able to continue on,’ do you not think that everywhere I look in my house, I don’t see my child?” she said. “His photos are everywhere. His artwork is everywhere. … I love that because he’s my child and I never want to forget him. But I’m not showing that on camera. I’m not showing you all those things.”

The Chandler, Arizona, Police Department confirmed to Us Weekly in May that Trigg died after being pulled unconscious from the family’s pool. In July, authorities submitted a criminal charge recommendation for Brady, who was home when the incident occurred. The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, however, later shared that there was “no likelihood of conviction.”

In August, Emilie broke her silence on Trigg’s death while returning to social media.

Influencer Lizzie Kieffer Shares Video Filmed Days Before Daughter Died

“I take full accountability as Trigg’s mother, and I know I should have done more to protect him,” she wrote, in part. “One of the hardest lessons I carry is that a permanent pool fence could have saved his life, and it’s something I will never overlook again. I hope amidst this pain, Trigg’s story will help prevent other children and families from suffering the same loss.”

Emilie has since opened up about her therapy journey, explaining that she tends to feel “nervous” before her passions but ultimately thinks they are “worth it.”

“Today we just talked about, basically, everything that has happened. It’s obviously been hard. There’s no doubt about that. It’s been really hard to deal with. And then on top of that, dealing with the grief and the sadness and the loss and the literal hole that we feel in our lives,” she said in a September TikTok. “That’s about it. I definitely feel better.”

Kylie Kelce Wonders If Jen Affleck Wears Diaper on ‘DWTS’ After Baby

Kylie Kelce can’t believe how Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jen Affleck is handling Dancing With the Stars just weeks after welcoming her third baby.

During the Thursday, October 16, episode of Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, guest Maya Rudolph mentioned that her daughter is “obsessed with” the ballroom dance competition, which kicked off its 34th season in September.

“She said that one of the girls on it … had a baby, like, nine weeks before? Something bananas, where I was like, ‘Wait, I couldn’t walk. What are you talking about?’” Rudolph, 53, quipped.

Kylie, who gave birth to her fourth daughter with husband Jason Kelce earlier this year, agreed with the Saturday Night Live alum. “Is she wearing a diaper?” Kylie wondered of postpartum underwear before joking, “I don’t think those dance costumes allow for that much space.”

Jen Affleck Says She’s ‘Still Recovering From Giving Birth’ on ‘DWTS’

Rudolph acknowledged that Affleck, 26, is “much younger” than she was when she had her own kids with director Paul Thomas Anderson. “I started having children when I was 33 and my last one was at 41, so my body was like, ‘You’re old. What are you doing? Stop. Stop doing this,’” she added.

Still in shock over Affleck’s commitment to the competition, Kylie asked, “Has anyone done a welfare check on her?”

Affleck, for her part, has been candid about the challenges she’s facing on DWTS after giving birth in July.

“I’m out of shape,” she exclusively told Us Weekly shortly before the season premiere last month. “It’s been a year since I’ve worked out. I’m excited to get back into shape.”

At the time, Affleck said she was surprised by “all of the lifts” she and pro partner Jan Ravnik were working on in rehearsals. “We’re definitely doing a lot of lifts and flips. That’s definitely been challenging, because I am still healing from having a baby. So it’s been a bit humbling, but it’s been fun,” she explained.

Jen Affleck Laughs Off Slipping in Heels at ‘DWTS’ Rehearsal: ‘Struggling’

Affleck’s postpartum journey has been a big topic throughout the season, as the judges and fans alike have marveled at her confidence on the dance floor. Following her TikTok Night cha-cha on September 30 — which Carrie Ann Inaba said was “sexy” — Affleck opened up to Us about how much the judges’ support has helped her self-esteem.

“I think, just being freshly postpartum, I still struggle with body image and I think all of us women do, especially after having a baby. So any compliments that we get, we’re just like, ‘Man, [that] means a lot,’” she said after the performance.

While Rudolph doesn’t think she could have competed on DWTS postpartum, she did have a different pitch for the “Not Gonna Lie” listeners. “I think there should be an exercise class that is basically Dancing With the Stars, but you don’t have to dance on television,” she said on Thursday. “Because everyone is in the shape of their lives [on that show] and everyone is in the best mood. It’s like, the most positive, life-enforcing [experience] … and everyone’s bodies are banging.”

Fans likely won’t see Rudolph in the ABC ballroom anytime soon. “I wanna do that privately,” she joked, “I don’t wanna do that on television.”

Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
