Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar has praised Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov for his contribution to strengthening relations between the two countries, AzerNEWS reports.
According to a post shared by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on X, Dar held a farewell meeting with the Azerbaijani ambassador.
‘Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar received Ambassador of Azerbaijan Khazar Farhadov for a farewell call. The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister appreciated Ambassador Farhadov’s contribution to further strengthening the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan,’ the ministry said.
Dar wished the Azerbaijani diplomat success in his new position and conveyed his best wishes and personal greetings to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
Farhadov, in turn, thanked the Pakistani deputy prime minister and foreign minister for the support extended to him during his tenure. He also praised Pakistan’s active efforts to promote lasting peace in the region, according to the ministry.
Azerbaijan and Pakistan maintain close political ties and have repeatedly emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in areas including trade, energy, transportation, defense and regional security.
Earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree recalling Khazar Farhadov from his post as Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Under a separate decree, Farhadov was appointed Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Malaysia.
