Sunday lunch does not always have to mean deciding what to cook, ordering the same meal again or spending the afternoon in the kitchen. If you would rather have someone else handle the food, a Sunday buffet gives you the chance to sit down, fill your plate and go back for more.
There are a few places on the Lagos Mainland where you can do exactly that, with Sunday buffets serving everything from Nigerian favourites to international dishes, drinks and more.
GTA Hotel
At GTA Hotel, the Sunday buffet runs from 12pm to 6pm, giving you plenty of time to make your way there without having to rush your Sunday morning. The hotel is at No. 3 Amore Street, off Toyin Street, Ikeja. The buffet costs N25,000 for adults, while children below 12 pay N12,500 and children below five eat free. A drinks station is included. If Sunday does not work for you, GTA Hotel also runs its buffet on Wednesdays and Fridays from 5pm.
Westgate Restaurant
For a buffet centred around Nigerian food, Westgate Restaurant in Olowora is another option to consider. The Sunday buffet runs from 11am to 4pm at 1 The Apostolic Church Close, Olowora, Magodo Phase 2. The spread features Nigerian meals, and complimentary water is included. Adults pay N25,000, while children pay N15,000.
PlugOut Terra
If you prefer to have options on when to go, PlugOut Terra has two Sunday buffet periods. Its after-church buffet runs from 12pm to 3pm, followed by a Sunday evening buffet from 6pm to 9pm. Located at 43 Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun, Ikeja, the buffet costs N25,000 per adult and comes with water and juice.
Tamberma Restaurant
At Tamberma Restaurant in Ilupeju, the Sunday buffet runs from 12pm to 4pm. Adults pay N25,000, while children pay N10,000. The buffet also comes with unlimited soft drinks, fresh lime soda and Chapman. You will find Tamberma at 6 Obanle Aro Avenue, off Coker Road, Ilupeju.
Golfview Restaurant
If you are looking for a Sunday buffet with a little entertainment alongside the food, Golfview Restaurant in Ikeja has its buffet on the first Sunday of every month, from 12pm to 4pm. The buffet comes with a welcome drink and live band. Located at 12 General Adeyinka Adebayo Road, Ikeja GRA, Golfview serves a mix of local Nigerian dishes and international options, including savoury dishes, sides, desserts and more. The buffet costs N30,000 per adult.
