FinTribe targets 10,000 women in push to turn financial knowledge into wealth

FinTribe, a Pan-African women-focused wealth platform, is targeting more than 10,000 participants for the fourth edition of its annual Finance Fair in Lagos. The focus is on translating financial knowledge into practical steps towards wealth creation, investment and entrepreneurship.

The event, themed ‘I CAN’, will be held on Saturday, October 31, at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, from 10 a.m. Viewing centres in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Akwa Ibom and Enugu will extend participation beyond Lagos.

Powered by returning lead sponsor Sycamore, the 2026 edition will bring together women, financial institutions, entrepreneurs, business leaders and wealth experts to explore opportunities in savings, investments, income growth, business development and long-term financial independence.

Speaking ahead of the event, FinTribe founder Jennifer Awirigwe, popularly known as Financial Jennifer, said the theme was designed to encourage women to move beyond financial awareness and take practical steps toward achieving their financial goals.

‘Financial education is important, but knowledge must eventually become action. We want women to leave Finance Fair knowing that they can save, invest, grow their income, build businesses and take ownership of their financial future,’ Awirigwe said.

She said the initiative seeks to equip women with the knowledge, confidence and opportunities to make informed financial decisions and build sustainable wealth.

Expected participants and guests include Funke Akindele, Omoni Oboli, Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan (popularly known as BamBam), Sola Adesakin, Lynda Aguocha, Seyi Abiodun (popularly known as Seyi De Assistant), and Olufemi Shobanjo, alongside other professionals and industry leaders.

Beyond discussions and presentations, participants will have opportunities to engage directly with banks, investment companies, fintech firms and other organisations offering financial products and services. Networking sessions, brand activations and interactions with industry professionals will also allow attendees to explore solutions suited to their personal and business needs.

The Finance Fair has also incorporated an empowerment component in previous editions, through which women have received millions of naira in business grants, international trips, plots of land, cash prizes, smartphones and other forms of support.

These interventions form part of FinTribe’s broader efforts to promote financial literacy, encourage investment and strengthen women’s participation in wealth creation.

According to the platform, its community has grown to more than 20,000 women across over 40 countries. Members collectively save and invest millions of dollars through its financial education, community and accountability programmes.

FinTribe said this growth reflects its commitment to helping women develop healthier financial habits, improve their investment knowledge and pursue long-term financial independence.

Previous editions of the Finance Fair have featured business leaders, financial experts and public figures, including Ajoritsedere Awosika, Shaffy Bello, Ruth Kadiri, Nkiru Olumide-Ojo, Olufemi Shobanjo, TriciaBiz, Alex Unusual, Beauty Tukura and Ayodeji Ebo, among others.

The fourth edition is expected to provide another platform for women to engage with financial experts, explore investment opportunities, connect with potential business partners and take practical steps toward building financial security.

Attendance is free, but registration is required through the FinTribe website.

The organisers said the event’s central message, ‘Less Talk. More Action,’ underscores the need for women to translate financial knowledge into measurable progress toward their financial goals.
