ipNX wins Connectivity and Last Mile Access Award at Maiden Nigeria eGovernment Summit and Excellence Awards

ipNX Nigeria Limited, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) company, has been recognised with the Connectivity and Last Mile Access Award at the maiden edition of the Nigeria eGovernment Summit and Excellence Awards, which held recently at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, reinforcing the company’s influence towards expanding digital connectivity and supporting Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.

The award recognises ipNX’s continued contribution to the development of critical telecommunications infrastructure and the expansion of reliable broadband connectivity across Nigeria. It also reflects the company’s growing role in enabling digital access for businesses, government institutions and communities.

Commenting on the milestone, Segun Okuneye, Deputy Director, Strategic Business Initiatives at ipNX, said the recognition underscores the importance of sustained investment and collaboration in closing Nigeria’s connectivity gap.

‘This recognition is a testament to our continued efforts to expand access to reliable connectivity across Nigeria. Bridging the digital divide requires more than infrastructure; it demands sustained collaboration between government and the private sector, continuous innovation and a shared commitment to ensuring that no community is left behind. We are proud to contribute to this important national agenda and remain committed to building the infrastructure that enables greater digital participation.’

Earlier at the summit, Oluseyi Lala, Divisional CEO, ipNX Business, participated in a panel session titled ‘The Last Mile Challenge: Powering Connectivity and Energy for 100 percent Polling Unit Coverage.’

During the discussion, he highlighted the distinct but interconnected challenges of power and connectivity, noting that both require proactive planning, coordinated interventions and collaborative solutions.

He called for stronger collaboration between Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and private-sector stakeholders to identify potential challenges, develop solutions ahead of time and rigorously test their effectiveness before Election Day.

He also emphasised the importance of anticipating the significant traffic demand expected during the elections, recommending that connectivity planning prioritise traffic from Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) devices to support the reliability and integrity of election-related processes.

The recognition at the Nigeria eGovernment Summit also builds on the positive feedback ipNX has received from public-sector stakeholders regarding its connectivity infrastructure and service delivery.

Speaking recently at the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) Meet the Governor Series, the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, commended the performance of ipNX’s connectivity infrastructure delivered under the Abia State Internet, Wide Area Network and Managed Network Services Project.

Reflecting on the project’s performance, Governor Otti remarked: ‘ipNX… Please feel free to come back anytime, any day. Your system is working very well, and our people are happy with the digital connectivity.’

Together, these developments reinforce ipNX’s role as a strategic technology partner in Nigeria’s digital transformation journey.

Through sustained investment in connectivity infrastructure, innovative technology solutions and collaboration with public- and private-sector institutions, the company continues to support efforts to extend reliable digital access and strengthen the foundations of a more connected economy.

As Nigeria advances its digital transformation agenda, ipNX remains committed to delivering the infrastructure and technology solutions that connect people, businesses and institutions, enabling greater access, participation and opportunity across the country.
