The Newspapers/Magazines Distributors’ Association of Nigeria (NDAN), Lagos Island Zone, has lost a pioneer member and founding figure, Babatunde Olabisi, who died in Lagos, after a brief illness at the age of 69.
Late Olabisi, popularly known among colleagues as J.O. Bamishe, hailed from Esie in Kwara State, and was a dedicated member and secretary of the NDAN’s Elders Forum.
In a statement signed by Musibau Oloyede, chairman of NDAN, Lagos Island Zone, and Emenimadu Blessing, secretary of NDAN, the association said the deceased contributions to NDAN would be greatly remembered.
Late Olabisi died on July 31, 2026, and a service of songs was held yesterday at his church, Cherubim and Seraphim Movement, St. Joseph, located at 47D Moshalasi Lane, behind 50/52 Moshalasi Street, Bale Bus Stop, Sari Iganmu, Lagos.
Another service of songs has been scheduled for today August 12, at his residence at No. 6 Ayo Afolabi Street, Aboru, Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos.
His remains will leave Lagos for Esie, Kwara State, on Thursday, August 13, ahead of the funeral service and interment at his family compound on Friday, August 14.
The association expressed grief over the loss and prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul.
