NDC: Peter Obi, Kwankwaso hold town hall meeting in Enugu

Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), and his running mate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, have reiterated their commitment to national unity, security and economic development at a town hall meeting in Enugu State.

The meeting, held as part of the party’s ongoing nationwide engagement, followed a similar town hall meeting in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, on October 29.

The presidential candidate, in a statement, said the engagement provided an opportunity to interact with supporters and residents of the state on issues affecting the country.

He said the meeting attracted a large turnout of party supporters and citizens, who lined the streets and gathered at the venue.

During the engagement, the candidates reaffirmed their commitment to uniting and securing the country, tackling corruption, investing in critical sectors, particularly health and education, and addressing poverty.

Before the town hall meeting, the presidential candidate and Kwankwaso met with the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Enugu State chapter.

At the meeting, they reaffirmed their commitment to national unity, religious harmony and peaceful coexistence.

The presidential candidate said leadership must involve listening to the people and understanding their needs, while receiving feedback on the impact of government policies and decisions.

He thanked party supporters, members and organisers for their commitment, as well as the people of Enugu State for their reception.
