Pattern New Energy expands Nigeria operations with battery, solar solutions

Pattern New Energy, a China-based energy technology company, is expanding its presence in Nigeria as it seeks to bring battery, solar and energy-storage solutions closer to households, businesses and industrial users.

Established in September 2009 and headquartered in Shenzhen, China, Pattern New Energy has grown from a battery manufacturer into an energy technology company providing products across renewable energy, battery systems and energy storage.

The company operates manufacturing facilities in Shaoguan and Zhongshan, with more than 300 employees and about 50,000 square metres of workshop space.

Its Nigerian expansion is being supported by the Pattern New Energy Nigeria Service Center in Lagos, Abuja and Kano. The company said the centres are intended to provide customers with access to its products, communication channels and market support.

Pattern New Energy’s product portfolio includes lithium batteries, energy-storage batteries, AGM batteries, deep-cycle batteries, gel batteries, solar inverter batteries, OPzV and OPzS batteries, solar panels and inverters.

The company has expanded its portfolio as energy needs have changed. Its earlier focus on sealed lead-acid and VRLA batteries was followed by the development of gel, deep-cycle and solar batteries.

It later moved into lithium-ion batteries, inverters, MPPT products and monocrystalline solar modules.

Pattern said the development of its products has been guided by the need to provide energy technologies that improve reliability and efficiency.

Its technologies are used in solar systems, UPS and EPS equipment, telecommunications infrastructure, data centres, emergency lighting and medical equipment.

They are also used in railway and maritime systems, household energy storage, commercial and industrial solar installations and photovoltaic power stations.

For Pattern New Energy, the Nigerian market provides an opportunity to bring its energy-storage experience closer to customers with different power needs.

The company said its local service centres form part of its strategy to build a recognised brand in Nigeria while improving product awareness, communication and customer support.

The move comes as households and businesses continue to seek solutions for managing their electricity needs. Energy-storage systems can support solar installations and provide backup power for businesses and other users that depend on electricity for daily operations.

Pattern New Energy has also maintained its international presence through participation in renewable-energy and energy-storage exhibitions, including the Solar PV and Energy Storage World Expo and Intersolar Mexico/The Green Expo.

The company is scheduled to participate in Intersolar Middle East in Dubai from September 1 to 3 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, where it will exhibit at Booth PE11.

The event will provide an opportunity for the company to present its energy-storage and renewable-energy products and engage with professionals, partners and stakeholders in the sector.

Pattern New Energy has developed manufacturing and quality systems alongside its international expansion. The company lists certifications and standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, CE, TUV, UL, RoHS, IEC 60896 and IEC 61056-1-2.

As Nigeria continues to seek ways to improve access to dependable and sustainable energy, Pattern New Energy said it plans to combine its manufacturing experience with local market support.

Its approach to Nigeria is focused on providing access to energy products while developing local channels for communication and customer support.

The company’s vision is captured in its stated message: ‘Better Energy. Better Solutions. Better Future.’
