The Queens of the Continent Foundation (QoTC) and the Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah Foundation (NNN Foundation) have entered into a landmark partnership to explore opportunities that support the empowerment and development of young people in Namibia, with a particular focus on girls and young women.
‘This strategic framework reflects a shared commitment to using basketball and sport as platforms for education, leadership development, mentorship, entrepreneurship, career pathways and broader economic opportunity’ said Chiney Ogwumike, Founder, Queens of the Continent Foundation.
‘Through this collaboration, our organizations intend to explore initiatives that expand access to skills development, international networks and exposure, and opportunities across sport and the creative industries.
Potential areas of collaboration include youth and girls basketball development through camps, clinics, coaching, mentorship and talent identification; education and career development; entrepreneurship and financial literacy; leadership and empowerment programs for girls and young women; opportunities across sports administration, media, broadcasting, digital content, fashion and entertainment; international exchanges and strategic partnerships; and efforts to support accessible and sustainable sports and recreational
infrastructure in Namibia.
Under the framework, Queens of the Continent Foundation intends to contribute sports expertise, program concepts, networks and relationships, including potential engagement with athletes, coaches, sports executives, entrepreneurs and other strategic partners.
The NNN Foundation intends to provide a platform for community engagement, youth outreach, local partnerships and stakeholder mobilization within Namibia.
The organizations may also jointly identify priority initiatives, beneficiaries, locations, technical partners and opportunities for resource mobilization.
The collaboration is designed to develop progressively, beginning with the exploration of targeted youth and girls basketball activities, mentorship, skills development and entrepreneurship initiatives.
Together, the organizations envision a framework that can help create meaningful pathways for Namibian youth, particularly girls and young women, to access sport, education, leadership, entrepreneurship and opportunities within the broader creative and sports economy.
Founded by Chiney Ogwumike in 2024, the Queens of the Continent (QoTC) Foundation’s mission is to create winning opportunities for young women and girls in Africa and throughout the diaspora.
QOTC provides pathways for female athletes to compete at the highest levels of elite competition, invests in top-of-the-line sporting infrastructure such as courts and equipment, and builds a network of mentors and educational resources to help young women transition into careers as athletes, coaches, broadcasters, team owners, and entrepreneurs.
