THE Bureau of Internal Revenue is preparing a confirmatory issuance to remove the value-added tax on the allowable system loss charge in electricity bills to reduce the amount paid by consumers.
Internal Revenue Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza said in a statement on Wednesday that the agency will issue a revenue memorandum circular clarifying the tax treatment of the system loss charge.
The RMC will be issued after the lapse of 15 days from the publication of Energy Regulatory Commission Resolution 26 (series of 2026). The regulator approved the resolution on August 25.
