THE ‘PARK’ IN PARKWAY | Greenfield marks 65th Anniversary with groundbreaking of 1km Green Gateway Road in Biñan

Manila, Philippines-Greenfield Development Corporation (GDC) celebrates its 65th anniversary with another milestone, breaking ground on the Biñan Spine Road at Greenfield City.

This latest project is part of Greenfield’s ongoing work on the Greenfield City Biñan township, which Greenfield sees as a key driver of economic growth and urban development in South Luzon. Greenfield City Biñan will be accessible via the South Luzon Expressway’s Greenfield-Unilab (Mamplasan) Exit and the South Luzon terminus of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), putting it at the heart of dynamic activity in the region.

The gateway township aims to facilitate wellness and community through an integrated network of roads, parks, and green spaces.

A vital artery connecting the South to multiple hubs

The Gateway Spine Road will connect Greenfield City Biñan’s developments to neighboring cities, improving mobility in South Luzon and serving as a vital link between Cavite and Laguna to Metro Manila.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, Greenfield President Atty. Duane A.X. Santos highlighted that the Biñan Spine Road will be a vital artery connecting people and spaces to each other.

‘Every great city has a defining boulevard. This gateway road would make everyone slow down and appreciate their surroundings,’ Atty. Santos shared. ‘It’s not all about the destination; it’s really about the whole journey.’

The kilometer-long avenue is a curving roadway that connects six interconnected public parks in the township. It will also connect to a secondary loop road, home to a community rest stop featuring cafés, pocket parks, retail spaces, sports and wellness spaces like tennis courts and pickleball courts, and gathering areas, giving people multiple opportunities to connect with each other over shared interests and healthy living.

A strong foundation for a sustainable community

Greenfield envisions the future of Southern Luzon-a growing hub for industry, innovation, and creativity-as one shaped by care for people and wellbeing.

The Greenfield head highlighted that the Biñan Spine Road is not a mere conduit for transportation, but a gateway in every sense of the word. The road means more than accessibility; it is a symbol of connection-a link that brings everything within reach, whether it’s new opportunities or bringing people closer together; the Spine Road becomes the main avenue.

‘This new city is primarily built for the wellbeing of everyone in the whole area. It will serve as the artery for the whole community, where all of the residences, offices, and institutions will be connected to,’ Atty. Santos added. ‘It’s the gateway for investments, jobs, innovation, and communities. We’re building a community where people can live well, live better, and ultimately live longer.’

Far beyond a way to get around, the Biñan Spine Road stands as a gateway where nature, well-being, and opportunity meet-a vital link built to give life, community, and progress room to breathe and thrive.
