PORT-AU-PRINCE – Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, has expressed his ‘deepest sympathies’ to the families of the victims of Hurricane Melissa, whose passage near the French-speaking Caribbean Community (CARICOM) country earlier this week left 24 people dead and at least 13 others still missing.
KINGSTON – An 18-year-old pregnant woman is among the 19 people reportedly killed when Hurricane Melissa, the category 5 storm slammed into the island on Tuesday, the Jamaica Gleaner newspaper reported on Friday.
CASTRIES – The St. Lucia government says it will formalise new pathways for cooperation with the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), marking what it termed ‘the start of a deeper partnership focused on unlocking investment and strengthening regional collaboration to advance St. Lucia’s national development agenda’.
