Police are investigating the murder of one of their colleagues who was shot and killed late Tuesday night after gunmen walked up to his vehicle and fired several rounds through a window,
The policeman, who has so far been identified only as Police Constable Douglas, with 20 years service, was shot in Kelly Village, Caroni in Central Trinidad. His licensed firearm has been stolen and one of the alleged attackers, who was injured during the attack, died at the Arima General Hospital after being dropped off by the suspects.
The vehicle used by the attackers was subsequently found abandoned. The police officer was assigned to the Four Roads Police State in Diego Martin, west of here.
