On November 5, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, Leyla Aliyeva, together with Arzu Aliyeva, head of the Baku Media Center, visited the 25th Anniversary Traditional Republican Exhibition-Sale Fair of Beekeeping Products in Baku.

According to Azernews, the two viewed various stands, exploring a wide selection of honey and other apicultural products presented by local beekeepers. They were briefed on production methods and quality standards and engaged in friendly discussions with producers about seasonal productivity and market opportunities. The visit concluded with commemorative photos with the beekeepers.

This year’s fair features more than 280 farmers from 43 regions of Azerbaijan. Participants of the ‘Young Beekeeper’ project, launched by the IDEA Public Union to promote eco-entrepreneurship among youth, are actively involved in the event. Four young beekeeper families have collectively presented 1,128 kilograms of honey at the fair.

The ‘Gullu Yaylaq’ Beekeeping Cooperative from Khojaly District made its debut appearance this year. Founded by Ganira Asadova, a long-time beekeeper from the village of Ballija, the cooperative’s mission is to increase women’s employment in agriculture, preserve local beekeeping traditions, and promote the production of environmentally clean products. Currently, the cooperative consists of five members, presenting six types of bee products totaling 400 kilograms at the exhibition.

Also taking part in the fair were participants of the ‘Kalbajar Honey Festival 2025’, which was held in September in Kalbajar District on the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva.

It is noteworthy that President Ilham Aliyev has repeatedly expressed his support and appreciation for Kalbajar honey, recognizing it as one of the finest natural products of the region. His remarks have significantly boosted the honey’s visibility and prestige. Today, Kalbajar honey stands out for its purity and quality, emerging as one of Azerbaijan’s national brands.

In total, this year’s fair offers over 100 tons of honey and more than 15 varieties of other beekeeping products for sale, underscoring the continued growth and modernization of Azerbaijan’s apiculture sector.

The International Mugham Center has hosted a spectacular concert by the Honored Collective – Azerbaijan State Orchestra of Folk Instruments named after Said Rustamov, Azernews reports.

Under the direction of artistic director and chief conductor, Presidential Award recipient Mustafa Ashurov, the concert program featured works by Azerbaijani and foreign composers.

Solo performances by orchestra members included compositions like Adil Garay’s “Bagça Krd”, Suleyman Alasgarov’s “V?t?nimdir”, Jahangir Jahangirov’s “Rondo”, Oftay Kazimi’s “Inanmaram”, Shamsi Karimov’s “Gec?l?r”, Vittorio Monti’s “Çardas”, Haji Khanmammadov’s “Arzuya bax sevgilim”, Tofig Guliyev’s “Dance Rhythms”, Fikrat Amirov’s “Reyhan”, Ramiz Mirishli’s “Waves”, and other beloved pieces.

The concert was met with great applause from the audience.

That evening, the stage came alive with the spirit and essence of Azerbaijan. The orchestra showcased a colorful and diverse program, bringing together the works of the country’s prominent composers.

The music flowed like a series of vivid scenes-sometimes tender and introspective, sometimes lively and jubilant.

U.S.-based data analytics firm LexisNexis Risk Solutions announced on Wednesday the launch of its new Asia-Pacific data center in Malaysia, aiming to strengthen its presence and better serve clients across the fast-growing Asian market, Azernews reports, citing foreign media.

In a statement, the company said the new facility underscores its commitment to delivering secure, high-performance digital identity verification and fraud prevention solutions throughout the region.

Located in Malaysia, the data center will process and manage data to support key markets across North Asia, Southeast Asia, and Australia, enhancing service reliability and reducing latency for regional customers.

This latest expansion follows the company’s recent growth initiatives in the region, including the opening of a cloud hosting facility in Australia and its first Asia-Pacific data center in India in 2023.

FC Qarabag will face FC Chelsea in Baku in the fourth round of the UEFA Champions League Group Stage.

The match will take place at the Tofig Bahramov Republican Stadium on November 5 at 21:45 (Baku time).

The game will be officiated by a team of referees from Austria.

The winners of the 3rd CINEMO International Mobile Film Festival have been awarded at the Nizami Cinema Center, Azernews reports.

The festival took place under the motto “Fikir ç?km?, telefona ç?k!” (“Don’t think too long – shoot on your phone”).

CINEMO Film Festival was organized with the support of the Azerbaijan Culture Ministry, the Azerbaijan Film Agency, and the company SBRLY.

The festival, which has already become a notable event in the country’s cultural life, aims to support youth creativity, popularize mobile filmmaking, develop skills in shooting and editing on mobile devices, and discover new talents among young filmmakers and mobile videographers. Speaking at the awarding ceremony, the festival’s founder and director, actor Ruslan Sabirli, speaking at the ceremony, noted that this year the festival broke its own record, with nearly 100 films from 33 countries submitted, which is twice as many as last year. Over three years of the festival’s existence, a Google search for CINEMO Film Festival yields over five million results, demonstrating the rapid growth of international interest in the project.

The ceremony featured members of the international and national juries. The international panel included producer Yusuf Sheikh from India as chairman, visual designer Hatice Oksuz from Turkiye, and director-screenwriter Ashraf Shishir from Bangladesh. The national jury included director Mazahir Gashimov as chairman, screenwriter and poet Elvin Pasha, and director Amil Amal.

In the international program, the award for Best Vlog went to “Tasha tries Egypt!” from the USA, directed by Natasha Bodmer. The Best Music Video award was given to “Sluqwoman” from Japan, directed by Kaho Sugisaki. The Best Documentary Film award went to “The Happiness Experiment” from the USA, directed by Jacqui Farris. “The Last Passenger” from India, directed by Subhankar Gatak, received the award for Best Short Film, while “Delta County” from the USA, directed by Gloria Iseli, was named Best Feature Film. The Special Jury Prize was awarded to the Polish film “Salted Caramel,” directed by Michal Wengzin.

In the national competition program, the award for Best Mobile Photography went to “T?hlk?siz baryer” by Zulfiya Islamova. “Bas st?,” directed by Sabuhi Abbasov, received the award for Best Music Clip, while “Agacin hekay?si,” directed by Kövs?r Gurban and Rena Hasanli, won Best Social Clip.

The Best Documentary Film award went to “Dördnc divar,” directed by Siyara Pashazade, and “Yer Kr?sinin sakinl?ri,” directed by Farid Karim, was named Best Feature Film.

On November 4, 2025, on the platform of the 43rd Session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand (Republic of Uzbekistan), a high-level presentation of unique projects reflecting the depth and richness of Turkic civilization was organized by the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.

The event featured the presentation of the multilingual Catalogue of the Cultural Heritage of the Turkic World ‘The Cultural Code of the Turkic World’, prepared in accordance with the strategic documents ‘Turkic World Vision – 2040’ and ‘TURKTIME’, as well as the multivolume multilingual Anthology ‘Heritage of Turkic Folklore’, implemented upon the initiative of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and supported by the Heads of State of the Turkic countries.

Following the presentation, an event was held to mark the proclamation of 15 December as the ‘World Turkic Language Family Day’, adopted by the resolution of the 43rd Session of the UNESCO General Conference on November 3, 2025.

During the presentation, President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Aktoty Raimkulova, expressed deep gratitude to UNESCO and the Republic of Uzbekistan for their hospitality and the support provided in the organization of the event. In her speech, Raimkulova congratulated the scholars, experts, and members of the Advisory Committee who contributed to the realization of these projects, emphasizing that these editions have become a spiritual bridge uniting the Turkic World.

Among the speakers were Rustam Muzaffarov, project curator of the Catalogue ‘The Cultural Code of the Turkic World’, and Joppor Eshonkulov, a renowned scholar from Uzbekistan and contributor to the Anthology ‘Heritage of Turkic Folklore’. They underlined the importance of these publications and highly appreciated the contribution of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation in preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the Turkic World.

Among the honorary guests were Arslan Koichiev, Advisor to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic; Prof. Dr. Krsad Zorlu, Deputy Chairman Justice and Development Party of the Republic of Trkiye; and Prof. Dr. Bakhrom Abdukhalimov, Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The guests emphasized the historical significance of this decision in recognizing the richness and shared spiritual roots of Turkic languages and highly valued the contribution and efforts of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation in organizing the event.

Speeches were delivered by the Permanent Delegate of the Republic of Azerbaijan to UNESCO, Ambassador Mr. Elman Abdullayev; Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Talgat Yeshenkulov; Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the French Republic and Permanent Representative to UNESCO, Maksat Chariyev; and Deputy Permanent Representative of Hungary to UNESCO, Kinga Simon. Representatives of the Permanent Delegations of Belgium, Ecuador, France, Latvia, Oman, Qatar, Venezuela, and the Czech Republic to UNESCO, as well as accredited representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Uzbekistan, representatives of international organizations, scholars, cultural institutions, foreign guests interested in Turkic culture and heritage, and media representatives participated in the event.

The evening was continued by the performances of the TURAN ethno-folklore ensemble, Ambassadors of Turkic culture and heritage. Their performance of outstanding samples of Turkic musical art became one of the most remarkable highlights of the ceremony, receiving warm applause from the audience.

Azerbaijan is set to field 15 fencers at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Saudi Arabia, Azernews reports.

In the women’s individual sabre competition, Polina Kaspiarovich and Sabina Karimova will compete, while in the team event, P. Kaspiarovich, S. Karimova, and Zarifa Huseynova will showcase their skills.

In the men’s individual competition, Magsud Huseynli and Saleh Mammadov will participate, and in the team event, M. Huseynli, S. Mammadov, and Murad Akbarov will test their strength.

In the women’s épée events, Aynur Guliyeva and Nazrin Mehdiyeva will compete individually. In the team event, Aynur Guliyeva, Khadija Hasanli, and Nazile Rahimova will represent the country.

In the men’s individual épée competition, Ruslan Hasanov and Vahab Fatullayev will take part, and in the team event, Ruslan Hasanov, Emin Safarbayev, and Mirkhatai Mammadov will test their skills.

The fencing competitions will take place from November 17 to 20.

The 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games are set to take place on November 7-21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marking the sixth edition of this multi-sport event for athletes from countries that are members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The event is expected to feature a wide array of sports, with athletes from across the Muslim world competing to promote solidarity and cultural exchange through sports?.

Recall that Azerbaijan hosted the Islamic Solidarity Games in 2017. A total of 24 disciplines from 21 sports were contested in this edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games.

Some sports also include disabled sports events such as athletics and judo.

On November 5, an event dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the historic Victory achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War was held with the participation of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and Arzu Aliyeva.

The event, supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, brought together mothers of Azerbaijan’s heroes who lost their lives in the First Karabakh War, the Patriotic War, the April and Tovuz battles, as well as in anti-terrorist operations, from across the country.

Azernews reports that the event, organized by the Fire Land group, also coincided with the 5th anniversary of the “My Son is a Hero!” project.

In their remarks, speakers highlighted bravery of Azerbaijan’s heroic army under the leadership of President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, the liberation of the lands from Armenian occupation as a result of the historic Victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, and the heroism of the sons of the Motherland who fell in the struggle for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

The event, furthermore, featured the screening of a trailer of the feature film “44,” highlighting the road to Victory in the Patriotic War and the heroism of Azerbaijan’s army.

Prominent Azerbaijani artists then took the stage.

At the end of the event, the martyrs’ families presented a commemorative gift to Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva, expressing their gratitude to the state and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for the attention and care they have always shown to the families of the martyrs.

Matanat Mammadova, Mother of martyr Huseyn Taghiyev, and Ulduz Mikayilova, mother of martyred senior lieutenant Rahim Mikayilov, expressed their impressions to AzerTag, conveying profound gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.

For five years now, Azerbaijan has been holding commemorative events to honor the memory of its martyrs, bringing together families of fallen soldiers through projects like “My Son is a Hero!” and “My Father is a Hero!”, with approximately 5,000 mothers of martyrs and over 1,700 children of martyrs participating in various activities over these years.

In particular, during Ramadan this year, approximately 2,000 mothers of Azerbaijani martyrs attended meetings organized under the “My Son is a Hero!” project, which was supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

These events are a manifestation of attention and care for the families of martyrs, and respect for the memory of their heroic sons, as well as aim to support the state’s efforts in this regard.

The Azerbaijan women’s volleyball team started their campaign at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a strong victory, Azernews reports.

Faiq Garayev’s squad defeated Iran in their opening match at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Olympic Complex. Azerbaijan secured a confident 3-0 win with set scores of 25-11, 25-16, and 26-24.

The team is set to play against Tajikistan next on November 6.
