Evans Eshun popularly known as Ebo Noah has been remanded into police custody by the Adenta Circuit Court over false claims that the world d would be destroyed by a flood on December 25, 2025.

Ebo Noah rose to internet fame after claiming he was directed to construct an ark to rescue the world from an impending flood which would destroy the world.

He used social media platforms such as Facebook, TikTok and YouTube to broadcast several videos in which he reiterated what he termed the end of the world.

But the police now indicate that the accused has admitted to making false claims about the impending flood, while also allegedly admitting that the said ‘ark’ does not belong to him.

The 33-year-old security guard was arrested on December 31, 2025, at his hide out at Weija-Gbawe in the Greater Accra Region, following an intelligence-led operation.

He has been charged with one count of publication of false news with intent to cause fear and panic.

He has been remanded into custody by the court, presided over by Her Honour Angela Attachie to reappear on January 15, 2026.

He was also ordered to undergo a psychiatric examination at any government psychiatric facilities before the next court date.

A Court document indicates that the accused admitted in his investigation caution statement that the boat he referred to as an ‘ark’ in the videos did not belong to him but rather for a fisherman at a boat yard in Edina in the Central Region of Ghana.

‘The suspect further admitted that his claims were false and acknowledged that there was no impending flood intended to destroy the world, but all are his own fabrications,’ the document added.

The Bank of Ghana (BoG), has stated that Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) without the requisite licence after the transitional period will be sanctioned in accordance with the law.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Bank of Ghana on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 following a joint sensitisation workshop on Anti-money laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism AML/CFT for Virtual Asset Providers (VASPs) in Accra.

According to the Central Bank, the workshop which was organised in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) also marks an important milestone toward the effective implementation of Ghana’s recently passed Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) Act.

It stated, ‘Virtual asset services without the requisite licence or registration after the transitional period will attract stringent sanctions in accordance with the law’.

The Bank of Ghana also mentioned that the workshop, which attracted over 90 participants from the virtual asset-ecosystem, was also aimed at strengthening AML/CFT compliance within the sector.

It featured discussions on Ghana’s AML/CFT legal and regulatory frameworks,

including the AML Act, 2020 (Act 1044), the AML/CFT Guidelines (2022), and

the VASP Act.

‘Emphasis was placed on the designation of VASPs as Accountable Institutions under the AML/CFT Guidelines (2022) and the attendant compliance obligations,’ parts of the statement read.

It said key provisions of the VASP Act were also highlighted, including anticipated licensing and registration requirements, as well as the transitional arrangements for existing operators.

‘This initiative reflects a coordinated effort by BoG, SEC and FIC to support market stability, and safeguard investors’. it added.

The authorities further reaffirmed that implementing the VASP Act will be a key focus for Ghana’s financial regulation

The Attorney General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has issued an order for the discontinuation of criminal proceedings against Ghanaian businessman, Sir Samuel Esson Jonah, and three others in the ongoing dispute involving the River Park Estate in Nigeria.

The decision follows a ‘comprehensive review’ of investigations which held that no prima facie had been established against the business mogul, his company Jonah Capita Nigeria and three others who were charged by the Nigerian Police Force for alleged forgery, fraudulent activities and other related criminal offences.

‘Following the completion of a comprehensive review of the case files and investigation conducted by the Nigeria Police Force, involving allegations against Mr. Samuel Esson Jonah, Mr. Kojo Ansah Mensah, Mr. Victor Quainoo and Mr. Abu Arome for forgery, fraudulent activities and other related offences as it pertains Jonah Capital Nigeria Limited and Houses for Africa Nigeria Limited, the Attorney General of the Federation has determined that no prima facie case has been established against the aforementioned individuals,’ the Director of Public Prosecutions of the Nigerian Federation, M.B. Abubakar wrote.

The investigation conducted by the Office of the Attorney General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, comes after over a year long dispute between Jonah Capital Nigeria Limited and Houses for Africa Nigeria Limited, over the ownership of a property in the River Park Estate at Lugbe, Nigeria.

The decision to terminate proceedings against the four individuals was communicated in an official letter from the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), following a comprehensive review of police case files and investigations.

The Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi SAN, determined that allegations of forgery, fraud and related offences against Sam Jonah, Kojo Ansah Mensah, Victor Quainoo and Abu Arome could not be sustained.

The Attorney General’s Office also noted that investigations conducted by the Nigeria Police Force, in the matter, did not meet the required burden and standard of proof needed to establish any criminalities against the four businessmen.

The letter also confirmed the findings of a Special Investigation Panel on petitions regarding Jonah Capital Nigeria Limited, Houses for Africa Nigeria Limited and the River Park Estate in Lugbe, in March 2025, as ‘valid, comprehensive, unbiased and is thus affirmed.’

Mr. Lateef Fagbemi SAN, however questioned the conclusions of the investigation by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Monitoring Unit, describing them as ‘highly misleading,’ while criticising attempts to make a commercial dispute a criminal matter, contrary to Section 8(2) of Nigeria’s Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015.

The Attorney General in his correspondence also raised concerns about a press conference held by the police June 27, 2025, during which some persons were publicly identified as owners and managers of the River Park Estate without any judicial determination.

The Attorney General said such pronouncements were inappropriate and exceeded the lawful authority of the police.

The Attorney-General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has therefore, directed Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to ‘immediately rescind any administrative measures taken on the basis of the investigation report issued by the IGP Monitoring Unit (IGPMU) of the Nigeria Police Force,’ the AG directed while urging the CAC to ‘refrain from taking any action that will undermine the authority and integrity of the Courts.’

Significantly, the Attorney General requested fresh investigations into allegations of criminal intimidation, assault and destruction of property at the River Park Estate, allegedly involving some persons acting on the orders of one Paul Odili.

The Nigeria Police Force was further asked to ensure the safety of residents of the affected property, and allow for the peaceful enjoyment of property at the estate.

The comprehensive report from the AG comes just weeks after Sir Samuel Jonah had petitioned Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration over the matter, asking for government’s diplomatic assistance after alleging the unlawful seizure of his investments in Abuja’s River Park Estate by the CAC.

The Foreign Minister, consequently, petitioned ECOWAS on the matter, during the 95th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Council of ministers, held in Abuja, Nigeria between December 10 and 12, 2025.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of Jonah Capital Nigeria Limited, Kojo Ansah Mensah, has commended the Attorney General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN, for the intervention in upholding the rule of law.

Mr. Mensah in a stamen notes that the intervention has restored confidence and renewed hope among foreign investors and the business community that, Nigeria remains a country governed by laws, due process, and institutional accountability.

According to him, prior to the decision by the Attorney General, his company Jonah Capital Nigeria Limited, was concerned by a series of actions that compelled them to question the integrity of the system.

These included the refusal of the Nigeria Police Force, to release an earlier Special Investigation Panel (SIP) report which had fully investigated the dispute, an alleged extra-judicial expropriation of their shares and a purported alteration of their corporate records in December 2025, among others.

Mr. Mensah thanked the Attorney General for the ‘painstaking ‘ review of their case which he noted reaffirmed the presumption of innocence and the centrality of due process in Nigeria’s justice system.

He further expressed gratitude to President Ahmed Tinubu, President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria; President John Dramani Mahama; Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration; Mohammed Baba Jamal Ahmed, Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria and other personalities, who through their support, helped with the cases.

The Ghana Police Service have arrested self-styled prophet Ebo Noah, also known as Evans Eshun, age 33, after his widely shared end-time prophecy failed.

The arrest happened around New Year’s Eve and is believed to be linked to his prediction of a global flood on December 25, 2025.

Ebo Noah had predicted a catastrophic flood would destroy the earth on December 25, 2025, and built an ark to save people.

He claimed to have received a divine message from God, similar to the biblical story of Noah. His prophecy gained widespread attention on social media, with some believing him and others criticizing his claims.

However, on December 24, 2025, Ebo Noah announced that God had changed his mind and would not destroy the world due to his prayers and fasting.

The Elmina police declared him wanted after his prophecy failed to materialise, and he was later arrested for spreading misinformation.

However, Ebo Noah made a surprise appearance at Sarkodie’s Rapperholic concert on December 25, 2025, at the Grand Arena in Accra. He introduced Sarkodie on stage, and the crowd went wild. Ebo Noah claimed the flood he predicted didn’t happen because he prayed against it, and many others, including social media users, also prayed for the disaster to be averted.

The appearance sparked mixed reactions, with some fans defending his right to a platform, while others criticized him for misleading people with his prophecy. Some attendees even expressed disappointment, accusing him of deceiving the public.

Five members of a notorious phone snatching and armed robbery syndicate operating within parts of Accra and Tema have been arrested by the Ghana Police Service Criminal Investigations Department (CID), following an intelligence-led operation.

The suspects, identified as Seth Tetteh Noi, also known as Wonder; Emmanuel Selasi Monyekor; Abdul Fatao Sameed; Karam Fatao; and Abdul Jamel Mohammed, were arrested at their hideouts on December 24and25 2025 during separate intelligence-driven operations.

According to COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, Director-General of the CID, investigations uncovered the operations of criminal syndicates engaged in street, residential, and workplace robberies across Oyibi, Appolonia, Spintex, Airport Residential Area, East Legon Hills, Zenu Atadeka, Ashaiman, and Kasoa.

‘Following coordinated operations conducted at Ashaiman China Mall and Kasoa, police arrested the five suspects and conducted searches, which led to the recovery of one pistol and one pump-action gun believed to have been used in several robbery expeditions,’ she stated.

COP Yaako Donkor further indicated that investigations linked the syndicate to a violent robbery attack on mourners at Ashaiman under Bridge, where victims attending a funeral were robbed of cash and valuables valued at over two hundred thousand Ghana cedis (GH?200,000).

Further intelligence enabled police to foil another planned robbery at the Ashaiman China Mall, leading to additional arrests and disrupting the gang’s criminal activities.

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect, Salim Mohammed, also known as Fariwata, in connection with the daylight robbery attack on a jewellery shop at Adabraka where an amount of GH?7.5 million proceeds from a gold transaction was stolen while being conveyed to the bank.

In a press conference held at the Police Headquarters, Accra today, Director General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) COP Lydia Yaako Donkor said the arrest was made on November 20, 2025 at a hospital in Ashaiman, following months of intelligence operations.

She revealed that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect and his accomplices, armed with AK47 assault rifles, intercepted the victim’s vehicle, fired multiple shots to disperse onlookers, and injured the driver before fleeing with the cash.

COP Lydia Yaako Donkor said efforts are underway to arrest the remaining accomplices and recover the stolen money.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 has already set a new benchmark for global interest, with more than 150 million ticket requests submitted at the halfway stage of the Random Selection Draw ticketing phase.

Fans from over 200 countries have applied for tickets since the current phase opened on Thursday, 11 December 2025, making the tournament more than 30 times oversubscribed based on verified individual credit card entries. The level of demand is unprecedented, exceeding by 3.4 times the total number of spectators who have attended all 22 previous editions of the World Cup combined since the competition began in 1930.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the response as historic, saying the figures underline the global appeal of the tournament. He noted that the record-breaking demand reflects the passion of football fans worldwide and sets the stage for what he called the ‘greatest and most inclusive show on the planet’ when the tournament arrives in North America.

The 2026 World Cup will run from Thursday, 11 June to Sunday, 19 July 2026 and will be hosted across 16 cities in Canada, Mexico and the United States. It will be the first edition to feature 48 teams, competing in a total of 104 matches.

The Random Selection Draw ticketing phase remains open until Tuesday, 13 January 2026 at 11:00 ET (17:00 CET). FIFA has confirmed that the timing of applications does not influence the chances of success, as all valid entries will have an equal opportunity once the draw is conducted after the phase closes. Fans who are unsuccessful will still have chances to purchase tickets in later sales phases as more tickets become available.

Ticket prices will remain unchanged throughout the current sales phase. Fans with an existing FIFA ID can log in and apply directly, while new users must create an account via FIFA.com/tickets, the official ticketing platform for the tournament.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly, Grace Agyemang Asamoah, has expressed confidence that the district is on course for improved living standards as residents celebrate Christmas and prepare for the New Year.

Madam Agyemang Asamoah noted that the District Assembly, under her leadership, has continued to implement programmes aimed at improving the quality of life of residents.

Manchester United defender, Ayden Heaven, has shut the door on a potential switch of international allegiance to Ghana, opting instead to pursue his future with England in a decision that dents the Black Stars’ plans ahead of next summer’s FIFA World Cup.

The 19-year-old centre-back, who is eligible to play for Ghana through a grandparent, has been on the radar of the Ghana Football Association as it seeks to bolster the national team with dual-nationality talents. However, sources indicate that Heaven is determined to remain on the England pathway and has no intention of changing his international affiliation.

Ghana face a daunting task at the expanded World Cup, having been drawn in a demanding group featuring England, Croatia and Panama at the tournament to be staged across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Heaven’s choice means the Black Stars will be unable to call on the highly rated defender despite his eligibility.

A 34-year-old Nigerian woman, Beauty Alakwe, has been sentenced to 15 months’ imprisonment with hard labour for assaulting her nine-year-old daughter at Duase near Kenyasi in the Ashanti Region.

The sentence was handed down by the Circuit Court at Tafo, Kumasi, on December 23, 2025. The court also imposed a GHS6,000 fine, but Alakwe’s failure to pay the amount resulted in her immediate transfer to the Kumasi Central Prisons to begin her jail term.

Information from the Ashanti Regional Police Command indicated that the woman was arrested on November 22, 2025, following a report made by a concerned resident of Duase. Investigations into the case were carried out by the Kenyasi District Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU).

The police command applauded members of the public for their timely intervention and cooperation, which helped bring the perpetrator to justice.

However, the police cautioned the public against engaging in mob justice, stressing that suspects should be handed over to law enforcement agencies for due process.

The court further directed the Department of Social Welfare to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the child and to facilitate her reunification with family members in Nigeria.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting children and other vulnerable persons and encouraged the public to report all cases of abuse promptly.
