Wanderers are into semifinals of FDH Bank Cup

MCHINJI-(MaraviPost)-Mighty Wanderers have advanced to the semifinals of the FDH Bank Cup after edging out Creck Sporting FC 3–2 in a post-match penalty shootout, following a tense goalless draw at Aubrey Dimba Stadium in Mchinji on Sunday afternoon.

It was a tightly contested encounter, with both teams displaying determination and tactical discipline from start to finish.

Although Wanderers were favourites going into the game, they found it difficult to penetrate Creck’s solid backline, marshalled by Hardy Ng’andu, who received a yellow card in first-half added time.

The Nomads dominated possession early on, with Thierry Sama and Wisdom Mpinganjira coming close to breaking the deadlock.

Sama nearly scored in the 23rd minute with a powerful header that went just over the bar while Mpinganjira’s thunderous long-range effort narrowly missed the far post before halftime.

Creck, however, were not without their moments. George Chaomba almost put them ahead in the 29th minute with a brilliant solo run but his shot was well saved by Wanderers’ goalkeeper Dalitso Khungwa.

The first half ended goalless, setting the tone for a cagey second period.

After the break, both sides continued to chase a goal. Wanderers made attacking substitutions, bringing in Promise Kamwendo and later Masiya Manda to inject pace and creativity, while Creck responded by introducing Kondwani Chilembwe and Patrick Macheso to maintain intensity.

As the clock ticked down, the game turned into a midfield battle, with both goalkeepers Khungwa for Wanderers and Brighton Munthali for Creck pulling off crucial saves to keep their teams in contention.

With neither side finding the net after 90 minutes, the match went to penalties.

In the shootout, Wanderers held their composure as Masiya Manda, Promise Kamwendo and Blessings Mwalilino converted their spot kicks.

For Creck, George Chaomba and Frank Phiri scored but misses from Emmance Nyirenda and Ramadan Ntafu proved costly after Khungwa produced two brilliant saves.

Wanderers’ goalkeeper Dalitso Khungwa was the hero of the day, guiding his team to a 3–2 penalty victory and a place in the semifinals.

Speaking after the match, Creck Sporting coach Eliya Kananji said it was painful to bow out of the competition but praised his players’ performance, expressing hope that the same level of play in the league would bring positive results.

On the other side, Mighty Wanderers coach Bob Mpinganjira admitted it was a very tough game and said the most important thing was that his side advanced to the next round of the tournament.

Wanderers will face FCB Nyasa Big Bullets in one semifinal, while the other will feature Silver Strikers against Civil Service United.

The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) will announce the dates and venues for the matches in due course.

Trump orders removal of slavery exhibits from U.S. National Parks

…..Controversial directive sparks debate over historical preservation and national memory.

WASHINGTON-(MaraviPost)-President Donald Trump has ordered the removal of all images and exhibits about slavery from U.S. National Parks.

The directive applies to museums, historical sites, and educational displays that currently document the history of slavery in the United States.

Officials within the National Park Service have been instructed to comply with the order, raising serious concerns among historians, civil rights advocates, and educators.

Critics argue that the removal of these exhibits undermines efforts to educate the public about the nation’s past and the enduring impacts of slavery.

Supporters of the move claim that the directive is part of a broader initiative to “present history in a positive light,” although many view it as an attempt to whitewash uncomfortable truths.

The decision has ignited widespread debate on social media and among political commentators, with some calling for immediate legislative action to safeguard historical records.

Civil rights organizations have vowed to challenge the order, emphasizing that slavery is a central part of American history that cannot and should not be erased.

Historians warn that removing such exhibits could create dangerous gaps in public understanding, especially for younger generations learning about the struggles that shaped the nation.

The Trump administration has not released detailed guidelines on how the removal process will be conducted or what will replace the exhibits in national parks.

The controversy is expected to intensify as lawmakers, activists, and the public continue to debate the balance between historical education and political influence.

Manchester United humiliate Liverpool as Arne Slot’s woes deepen

…Liverpool 1-2 Man U

LONDON-(MaraviPost)-Manchester United handed Liverpool another painful defeat with a 2–1 victory at Anfield on Saturday evening, in a match that left the home fans stunned and disappointed.

The result marked United’s third win in a row and extended Liverpool’s losing streak under Arne Slot to four consecutive games.

The visitors got off to a perfect start, breaking the deadlock just two minutes after kickoff.

A quick counterattack caught Liverpool’s defense napping, allowing Manchester United to take an early 1–0 lead through Mbeumo.

The goal silenced the usually electrifying Anfield atmosphere and gave United confidence to control the early stages.

Liverpool tried to respond through Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai, who both came close with long-range efforts but United’s goalkeeper stood firm.

The Reds dominated possession but struggled to create clear-cut chances, a theme that has plagued them throughout their recent run of defeats.

In the second half, Liverpool increased their intensity, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson pushing high up the flanks. Their persistence finally paid off when Cody Gakpo found the equalizer, finishing clinically inside the box to make it 1–1.

The goal lifted spirits among the Liverpool faithful, who hoped their side could turn the game around.

However, despite the momentum shift, Manchester United remained dangerous on the break. Their midfield trio worked tirelessly to close down spaces and frustrate Liverpool’s attacking rhythm.

Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro were instrumental in keeping United organized and disciplined throughout the contest.

With just six minutes left on the clock, United delivered the final blow.

A swift attacking move saw them slice through Liverpool’s defense and the ball was calmly slotted home to make it 2–1.

The away fans erupted in celebration, while Anfield was left in stunned silence.

Arne Slot, the defeat was another bitter pill to swallow. The Dutch manager, who took charge earlier this season, is now under increasing scrutiny after losing four consecutive matches across all competitions. His tactical approach and team selections have come under fire from sections of the fan base.

The string of defeats 2–1 to Manchester United, 2–1 to Chelsea, 1–0 to Galatasaray and 2–1 to Crystal Palace has raised serious questions about Liverpool’s direction under Slot.

Many believe the team has yet to adapt to his style, while others think fatigue and lack of confidence are playing a major role.

Therefore, Liverpool has now slipped from second to third place in the Premier League table with 15 points from eight matches. Arsenal are leading the race with 19 points, while Manchester City sit second with 16 points.

Kim Kardashian Details Logistics of Wearing ‘Skims-y’ Mask to Academy Gala

Kim Kardashian pulled out all the stops for the 2025 Academy Museum Gala, which even meant wearing a full face covering.

Kardashian, 44, attended the annual benefit in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 18, wearing a strapless, tan Maison Margiela Couture gown. The dress featured a corset bodice, billowing sleeves and a tangle of diamond-and-emerald statement necklaces.

Kardashian’s glam, meanwhile, was completely concealed by a translucent face mask.

“You know I love Margiela, so here we are,” Kardashian told Variety on the red carpet about her straight-from-the-runway ensemble. “Honestly, I flew in my favorite makeup artist, Mario [Dedivanovic], from New York and this [mask] is kind of a last-minute thing. I’m sure he’s not so happy with it — or maybe he is.”

According to Kardashian, she had her “full hair and makeup done” before even adding the Margiela mask atop her head.

“I’ll probably take it off upstairs to eat, right?” Kardashian quipped, detailing the logistics of keeping her face covered. “I ate before to make sure that I was OK, but I can see.”

Variety reporter Marc Malkin also wanted to know whether it was “hot” underneath the mask, to which Kardashian revealed she was feeling cool and totally fine.

“You know, I’ve done this before,” Kardashian said, referring to her 2021 Met Gala all-black outfit from Balenciaga that also featured a face covering. “[That was] even more opaque [and this one] does look very Skims-y, that’s why I was drawn to it when the Margiela Couture show came out. I saw this look, and I was like, ‘That is so Skims and so me. How can I get it?’”

Kardashian further noted to the outlet that she followed Margiela designer Glenn Martens’ original “vision” of wearing the gown with both the mask and the necklace.

The Kardashians star founded shapewear brand Skims in 2018, which has since been well-known for its range of neutral-colored bodysuits and undergarments. The company recently went viral earlier this week with the launch of its Faux Hair Panty, a line of G-strings that have fake hair affixed to the front.

Skims’ Daring New ‘Ultimate Bush’ Fur Thongs Sell Out Hours After Launch

“The merkins [were] just a fun idea that I had,” Kardashian told Variety of her inspiration for the new lines of thongs. “There was a shoot, and someone wanted to have hair down there once. I was like, ‘Couldn’t this just be easy and have it on a thong?’ So, we made that happen. I had no idea that it would [gain such] a reaction and it would sell out in a few minutes.”

The new Faux Hair Panty has since sparked widespread conversation, from which Kardashian’s Skims is no stranger.

“I think it’s fun to mix it up,” she quipped on Saturday. “We have our nipple bra, we have our butt and hip shapewear [and] we have our merkins, you know? Who knows what we’ll surprise you with.”

Skims also launched a Face Wrap this summer, which covers an individual’s jawline and part of their chin.

“Our first-ever face innovation is here,” a website description reads. “This must-have face wrap boasts our signature sculpting fabric and features collagen yarns for ultra-soft jaw support. Velcro closures at the top and nape of the neck allow for easy, everyday wear.”

‘Reasonable Doubt’ Star ‘Didn’t Know’ She Filmed With Love Island’s Kordell

Not watching Love Island USA meant Reasonable Doubt‘s Brandee Evans didn’t realize she was filming scenes with reality star Kordell Beckham.

During the Thursday, October 16, episode of the Hulu series, Evans’ character Monica shared the screen with Ozzie’s (Kyle Bary) friends — with one of the guys being played by Beckham.

“I’ve never seen Love Island. I didn’t know who Kordell was,” Evans exclusively told Us Weekly. “But I just knew he was so kind and then I just know who I met on that set. So I’m going to have to go watch Love Island USA now.”

Evans praised Beckham’s performance, adding, “I remember him just being so kind and so cute. And what’s so funny is if this was one of his first acting jobs, he came into the scene with these balloons. If you go back and watch, he puts the balloons down because he’s new to acting. We all do it. I’ve done it too. So he put the balloons down in my shot.”

The actress told Us she simply laughed off Beckham’s mistake.

“I just acted with it. I was like, ‘It’s hilarious.’ The director loved it too. So when they cut, I go, ‘Kordell, not you putting the balloons in my face.’ He was so sweet. That’s the type of set we have. We can literally joke with each other,” Evans continued. “He put them there and then I just moved them out of the way and stayed in character. But that’s what they ended up using because it was so hilarious.”

Evans added: “If that’s the only thing that could tell that he was new to acting, that’s it. Because he was taking the director’s notes easily, he was fun to work with and he knew his stuff. It was great and I’m really excited for him. I hope his career does amazing after this.”

Reasonable Doubt, which premiered in 2022, follows a successful criminal defense lawyer at an upscale Los Angeles law firm. Evans, for her part, told Us that season 3 of the Hulu legal drama will include a new case involving Evans’ character, Monica.

“I’m very excited for everyone to see what happens. Because the best work to me is yet to come for Monica,” Evans teased to Us. “I can’t wait for you all to see it so people can see the different levels that I can do. People are so used to Mercedes [on P-Valley] and I love that Monica is so different.”

In addition to Reasonable Doubt, Evans will also be reprising the lead role in season 3 of P-Valley, adding, “We do have season 3 coming and Mercedes is just waiting for her time to shine. Season 3 is life-changing.”

Evans continued: “P-Valley tells authentic stories, Reasonable Doubt tells authentic stories and I am [always looking for more] authentic stories. That’s what locks in for me. I do want to do some comedy and a rom-com. People are so used to seeing me do these heavy roles but I want you all to see fun Brandee.”

New episodes of Reasonable Doubt air Thursdays on Hulu.
