Netflix does a lot of things well, but it especially excels at keeping subscribers happy with a lot of shows to watch.

Rather than riding out the rest of 2025 on its own coattails, Netflix is bringing back two of its original shows for new seasons in November.

Both of those comedy series are among the three underrated Netflix shows you need to watch in November, as chosen by the Watch With Us team.

‘The Vince Staples Show’ (2024 – Present)

If you can picture a version of Curb Your Enthusiasm that’s even more surreal with some hilarious action scenes, you might get something close to The Vince Staples Show. In the tradition of Curb, Vince Staples plays a version of himself who lives in a very exaggerated take on our reality. It’s just close enough to be recognizable as our world, but it veers off into some unexpected comedic territory.

The recently premiered season 2 finds Staples mourning his Uncle James (Beau Billingslea), but the circumstances surrounding the latter’s will reading and funeral become increasingly bizarre. Staples also has to keep the peace between his mother, Anita Staples (Vanessa Bell Calloway), and his sister, Bri (Naté Jones), neither of whom is particularly interested in playing nice with each other. But some of the things Staples encounters this season make his warring family members seem tame by comparison.

‘Absentia’ (2017 – 2020)

Like Sneaky Pete before it, Absentia is a former Prime Video original series that’s been sent to a new home where it can become a lot more popular than it ever was on Amazon. It’s already cracked Netflix’s top 10 series, and reminded fans that Stana Katic is capable of doing a lot more than just lighthearted rom-com mysteries like Castle. In this series, Katic plays FBI Special Agent Emily Byrne, a woman who was declared dead in absentia, since she disappeared without a trace and her body was never found.

‘A Man on the Inside’ (2024 – Present)

Four decades of starring in TV sitcoms have given Ted Danson the chance to do it all over again in A Man on the Inside. Danson plays Charles Nieuwendyk, a widowed man who finds a new purpose in life when a private detective, Julie Kovalenko  (Lilah Richcreek Estrada), hires him to go undercover in a retirement community to locate an extremely valuable ruby necklace.

Season 2 of the show is premiering on November 20, and it kicks off a new story for Charlie. His investigation at the Pacific View Retirement Community is over, but some of the friends he made there remain in his life as he’s drawn into another mystery. Danson’s real-life wife, Mary Steenburgen, is joining the cast this season as Charles’ new love interest, Mona Margadoff. Charles is understandably smitten with her, but her potential link to his new investigation may get their romance off on the wrong foot.

Adam Sandler says he feels “guilty” doing stand-up comedy in front of his daughters.

Sandler, 59, addressed the awkwardness during his Wednesday, November 19, appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s ABC late-night show, telling the host that Sadie, 19, and Sunny, 17, briefly attended his recent performance in Las Vegas.

“I’m very filthy,” the comedian confessed. “You know, I curse a lot. Been doing that my whole life. I feel guilty because I shouldn’t have done it, but I do it and I continue to do it.”

Sandler recalled, “It was my daughter’s birthday. They came to Vegas to see me. Right away, I [said], ‘Goddamnit.’ They’re in Vegas. ‘Can we bring our friends and we’ll celebrate at one of your shows?’”

He thought, “I can’t be myself” or “curse in front of them.”

In an effort to keep it clean, he tweaked his November 1 show at the Fontainebleau “out of respect for the kids and their friends.”

Sandler told Kimmel: “I’m on stage, knowing my daughters and their friends are in the crowd. I’m changing everything up. It’s Vegas, everyone’s expecting filth. And I’m not giving them the filth for like an hour and 45 minutes.”

Besides making jokes, Sandler had the crowd sing “Happy birthday” to Sunny, whom he and wife, Jackie Sandler, welcomed on November 2, 2008.

Kim Kardashian finally opened up about her brain aneurysm — and the aftermath.

During the Thursday, November 20, episode of The Kardashians, Kim, 45, shared how a complete body scan raised some red flags about her health.

“They called me today and they’re like, ‘Everything looks great but you have an aneurysm in your brain,’” she revealed to sister Kourtney Kardashian. “They’re like, ‘It’s been there for years.’”

Kim tried to be proactive about the issue.

“I called Keith Black — the brain surgeon. I sent him a picture of my scan and he was like, ‘I want you to come in for all this imaging,’” she continued. “Then I asked, ‘Can I wait? What makes it rupture?’ And they’re like, ‘Just stress.’”

The reality star concluded: “I’m like, ‘OK, I’m taking the bar exam and I’m studying 10 hours a day.’ The stress has been next level to the point of hives.”

The season 7 trailer of the hit Hulu series showed Kim lying in an MRI machine before finding out she had an aneurysm, which is swelling in a blood vessel of the brain. After causing concern off screen, Kim was asked about her health on Good Morning America, where she explained earlier this month, “I had to end up going and getting tons of other brain scans at Cedars-Sinai [Medical Center].”

Kim noted that “everything works out” for her and said her scan was “just a good measure to make sure you always check everything.”

“Health is wealth,” she added. “And you just have to be careful with everything that you do.”

Kim’s health scare came amid her ongoing attempt to become an attorney. After previously passing the “baby bar” exam, Kim said she would become a qualified lawyer before the end of the year.

After filming The Kardashians, Kim revealed she didn’t pass the bar — yet.

“Six years into this law journey, and I’m still all in until I pass the bar,” she wrote via Instagram on November 8. “No shortcuts, no giving up — just more studying and even more determination. Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way so far.”

She added: “Falling short isn’t a failure — it’s fuel. I was so close to passing the exam and that only motivates me even more. Let’s Go!!!!!!!!!”

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-On November 7, 2025, Old Mutual Pension Services Company hosted its inaugural Pension Trustees Conference at Sunbird Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi.

The event brought together a diverse range of stakeholders from across Malawi’s pension industry.

Held under the theme “Shaping the Future of Pensions: Resilience, Sustainability, and Innovation,” the conference provided a platform for knowledge exchange and strategic dialogue on the evolving pension landscape.

The conference attracted key industry figures, including Emily Makuta, a respected legal practitioner and governance professional, Kaluso Chihana, Director of Pension and Insurance Supervision at the Reserve Bank of Malawi; Dr. Wisely Phiri, Founder and CEO of Sparc Systems Limited; Pempho Likongwe, Managing Partner at Likongwe and Company; Mphatso Kasalika, Managing Director of Old Mutual Investment Group; Busani Ngwenya, a seasoned insurance executive and John C. Maxwell Certified Coach.

Setting the tone was Emily Makuta who zeroed in on the importance of pension being the backbone of financial security.

According to Makuta Pension must withstand shocks and remain reliable.

She said, “There is a need for Pension administrators to diversify investments, strengthening governance and risk management strategies”.

In his presentation, “Landscaping for Future Reforms,” Kaluso Chihana emphasised the need for proactive regulatory alignment to strengthen fund performance and sustainability.

He traced the sector’s journey from the 2010 reforms focused on operationalisation and supervision to the current stage of enhancing functionality, voluntary schemes, and economic impact.

Chihana highlighted five reform pillars: efficiency, sustainability, coverage, security, and adequacy.

Drawing on National Statistical Office data, he noted that of Malawi’s 950,000 elderly citizens, only 60,000 are pensioners, and of 960,000 salaried employees, just 645,000 belong to pension schemes against an active population of 6.6 million.

“These figures,” he said, “reveal the gap and the amount of work that still needs to be done.”

He added that the new Pensions Law was designed to be more inclusive, acknowledging that Malawi lacks a broad-based social security system.

“Currently, only about 4% of Malawians are covered by the National Pension Scheme,” he said.

Offering a technological perspective, Dr. Wisely Phiri discussed trends and innovations in pension fund governance, stressing the role of technology and data-driven systems in improving administration and oversight.

He identified five global trends shaping modern governance: going beyond compliance, integrating ESG principles, member-centric models, professionalism, and digital innovation.

“True innovation,” he noted, “is not about systems or code; it’s about people and ensuring that every kwacha contributed in faith is managed with integrity and returned with fairness.”

From an investment standpoint, Mphatso Kasalika’s presentation on “Sustainable and Impactful Investing” underlined the need to align financial returns with positive environmental and social outcomes.

He showcased Old Mutual’s responsible investment strategy, integrating ESG factors into financial analysis to achieve sustainable long-term returns through investments in housing, roads, communication infrastructure, tourism, and agriculture.

Addressing risk and resilience, Busani Ngwenya shared lessons from Zimbabwe’s hyperinflation era, urging trustees to prepare funds for shocks and volatility through risk monitoring, diversified portfolios, liquidity reserves, sound governance, and effective member communication.

Echoing the same, Counsel Pempho Likongwe underscored the importance of succession planning and governance frameworks within pension structures.

The conference therefore highlighted that strong governance, innovation, sustainable investing, and collaboration are central to securing the future of pensions in Malawi.

The call was made by NBM plc Head of Corporate Banking Division, William Chatsala at the launch of the 2025 ICT Association of Malawi (ICTAM) Annual Conference in Mangochi on Tuesday evening.

Ahead of the launch, NBM plc invested K75.5 million to support the 2025 Innovation Jam and ICTAM Annual General Meeting (AGM), celebrating the innovation and resilience driving Malawi’s digital future.

Chatsala said the Bank’s contribution reflects its belief in ICTAM’s mission to advance digital innovation and promote emerging technologies.

He noted that the initiative aligns with the NBM plc’s strategy to deepen financial inclusion, expand digital payment solutions, and strengthen innovations that meet global standards.

LUSAKA-(MaraviPost)-Chinese Premier Li Qiang arrived in Zambia on Wednesday night, embarking on an official visit designed to strengthen the long-standing ties between the two nations.

He was warmly received at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA) in Lusaka by Vice President Mutale Nalumango, senior Zambian officials, and representatives of the Chinese Embassy.

The visit represents a historic moment, being the first official trip by a Chinese head of government to Zambia in nearly three decades.

It is also Premier Li’s first engagement in a sub-Saharan African country since taking office.

Zambia and China have maintained diplomatic relations for more than sixty years, marked by landmark collaborations such as the construction of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway (TAZARA).

Their partnership has grown to include extensive cooperation in sectors such as energy, healthcare, mining, and industrial development.

Prior to the visit, China’s Ambassador to Zambia highlighted the desire to advance the consensus reached between President Hakainde Hichilema and President Xi Jinping.

The Ambassador also emphasized the importance of implementing decisions from the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Beijing Summit.

Since that time, Zambia has witnessed the launch of several key projects, including the Lusaka–Ndola Dual Carriageway, the Luanshya Shaft 28 dewatering project, and the Chisamba Solar Power Plant.

Recent debt restructuring agreements have also facilitated smoother cooperation between Zambia and China.

During the FOCAC Beijing Summit, a Memorandum of Understanding for revitalizing TAZARA was signed, followed by a concession agreement in October.

Premier Li’s current visit aims to consolidate previous achievements while setting the stage for new initiatives in bilateral cooperation.

He is scheduled to hold talks with President Hichilema at State House, where discussions will focus on enhancing trade, boosting economic cooperation, and promoting South–South solidarity.

Premier Li is also expected to witness the groundbreaking of the TAZARA revitalization project.

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The Super League of Malawi (SULOM) has confirmed that Songwe Border United will still face relegation from the TNM Super League, even if they win all their remaining five matches.

The announcement follows a dramatic but difficult debut season for the Karonga based rookies, whose survival hopes have been mathematically crushed.

Songwe Border United’s challenge in the elite league has been uphill from day one.

Despite brief moments of promise, the team failed to gather the consistency needed to compete at the highest level of domestic football.

After playing 25 matches, Songwe have managed only 1 win, against Chitipa United, drawn 3, and suffered 21 defeats.

This poor run means the maximum points they can possibly accumulate is 21, while the team in 15 place already sits at 23 points, placing safety completely out of reach.

Throughout the season, the club attempted to rescue their campaign by making multiple changes to the technical panel.

However, even replacing three coaches could not turn their fortunes around, leaving fans, management and players frustrated.

According to SULOM, the situation is now irreversible:Songwe Border United are officially the first team to be relegated this season with five matches still to play.

For the Northern Region outfit, the top-flight dream has proven harsh. Their journey has been marked by travel challenges, inexperienced squad depth and limited resources factors that contributed to their downfall.

Despite being relegated, Songwe still have obligations to complete.

The team is expected to honour all their remaining fixtures, starting with their next match against Goshen City Dedza Dynamos, a side battling for a top-eight finish.

As the league enters its decisive phase, attention now shifts to the other teams hovering above the drop zone.

Two teams must go down at the end of the season and with the table tightening, the battle for survival is intensifying.
