Breaking Down the Timeline of Scheana Shay and Lala Kent’s Feud After ‘VPR’

Scheana Shay and Lala Kent are the latest Vanderpump Rules alums to be on the outs — but what led to their ongoing feud?

The former costars had their issues during their time on the hit Bravo series, but were able to form a bond after becoming mothers. Scheana and Lala were on good terms when their time on Vanderpump Rules came to an end, even planning their next steps together.

“Lala and I had a good cry about it on the podcast, something that was such a big part of my life for so long. But also I think it was time. Honestly, it all feels right. It’s still all happening. It’s just happening a little differently,” Scheana shared on a December 2024 episode of her “Scheananigans” podcast. “I don’t think I will change anything that I have been [doing].”

She continued: “I text Ariana [Madix] here and there. I ran into Katie [Maloney] at a festival, but I’m not going to reach out more [or] reach out less. I’m just going to continue doing what I’ve been doing because show or no show, all of these people have been in our lives for so long. So it’s like, ‘When I see you, I see you. And when I don’t, I’m living my life.’ I’m just going to continue on the same path I’m on and excited for new adventures.”

Lala Kent’s Biggest Feuds With Her ‘VPR’ Costars Over the Years

Several months later, Scheana and Lala sparked rumors of a rift after they stopped posting about each other. Scheana hinted that she was upset at several friends — including Lala — after they didn’t show any public support for her memoir, My Good Side.

Lala and Scheana initially claimed they remained on good terms. Scheana subsequently confirmed that they faced major ups and downs connected to her memoir revelation about her husband, Brock Davies, cheating on her in 2021 when she was pregnant with their daughter, Summer.

“That was my way of trying to keep our private matters private by publicly calling her. But the real reason [we aren’t on good terms] is not about the book,” she explained in October 2025 on her Scheananigans podcast. “The real reason — which I’ve alluded to in interviews but I didn’t want to put people completely on blast is because these are people I genuinely care about.”

Keep scrolling for a full breakdown of the ongoing feud:

After Scheana confirmed that Brock was unfaithful while she was pregnant, Lala was asked whether she knew, sharing on her “Give Them Lala” podcast, “Yes, I did. But not for a while. So that [excerpt] came out and Scheana called me and said, ‘I just want to give you the heads-up that tomorrow this article is coming out with the excerpt. And I may need to tap you in. I’m very nervous.’”

Lala continued. “I won’t share exactly what she said on the phone because that’s between her and her husband. But I thought the excerpt that was pulled from her book was beautifully written. Well done.”

Scheana later hinted on her podcast that she wasn’t on the best terms with Lala and the rest of her friends who didn’t help promote or endorse her memoir.

“I think it was like maybe a week after it came out, I saw she posted a slide [with the book]. There was nothing else that she posted,” Scheana recalled. “I had reached out to her a couple days after all of the boxes were delivered. Because yes, you do expect your closest friends to post and support.”

Scheana was surprised Lala didn’t share a post supporting her book release sooner.

“I sent everyone a really nice PR box. I’m sure you guys saw some others who posted it,” she continued. “And I reached out [to Lala] and I was like, ‘Hey, did your box come? Because I hadn’t seen it posted yet.’ I just wanted to make sure I didn’t need to reach out to the publisher to be like, ‘Hey, Lala didn’t get her box.’”

Scheana added: “She said that her brother and her mom deal with the packages and that she would have them check. But then a week went by and the box didn’t get posted. So I’m assuming she got it because she posted the book.”

While Scheana didn’t offer further details on her friendship with Lala, she noted that her daughter, Summer, and Lala’s eldest, Ocean, were “still friends.”

Scheana was the first one to break her silence and confirm an actual feud.

“After extending grace last week, I do feel the need to address it because Lala knows why our friendship is in the state that it’s in,” Scheana explained on her podcast, before claiming Lala “did not take accountability” for their feud. “This is not just about not posting my book for a week. It is about so much more than that.”

Scheana noted that Lala made their falling out public “without even realizing it.” According to Scheana, she found herself being asked often about where she stands with Lala but she would pretend they were on good terms — going as far as calling Lala during her live book shows so fans wouldn’t notice tension.

“Not one — but two — of my closest friends repeated the Brock affair story to other people. One of those that it was repeated to was Brittany [Cartwright]. I know Brittany doesn’t have bad intentions,” Scheana noted. “I wanted to tell her myself but I didn’t have a chance. That one that I can’t get over is Lala telling [our mutual friend] Jenna Willis, who I have not been on good terms with since last season.”

She continued: “Lala did it to humanize me because she said that Jenna was going so hard on me that she wanted to tell her about what I was actually going through. Now I understand the intent was not malicious. … I kept this to myself for two years and then I told one of my best, closest and dearest friends and you go and tell someone. That was extremely heartbreaking.”

After finding out that Lala told multiple people about Brock’s affair, Scheana asked for some space. Conversations about them filming The Valley made things turn sour between them as well in the aftermath.

“It was especially painful for me because Lala knew the dark place that I was in mentally. Finally, I was ready to open up to my close friends about this and she did the same thing. So she violated my trust in a way like that, I was like, ‘This is not a safe space for me. This is not a friendship I feel good in,’” she continued. “This has been a pattern of behavior for years. I remember Ariana and I would talk about this before every reunion, like, “Oh, are we ready for the Lala apology tour?’ Every year should treat me like s*** and then come to the reunion and cry and apologize and I would forgive her.”

Scheana wanted to take steps to protect her peace.

“I don’t want to just get over things and move on now. I want to place boundaries and have a little more respect for myself and the circle that I’m keeping. I want it to be people I trust,” she explained. “I feel safe in all of my friendships and now I don’t feel safe in this. I know she’s not used to me standing up for myself because in the past I just let people walk all over me and I sweep it under the rug. I couldn’t let this just be water under the bridge. It needs to be fully rebuilt and I don’t know if I want to rebuild it.”

Biggest ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Feuds Ever — and Where the Relationships Stand

October 2025

Elsewhere in her podcast, Scheana called out Lala’s alleged behavior toward her.

“Some of our mutual friends [are] like, ‘Why do you put up with this? What are you gaining from this friendship?’ I just make excuses and make excuses and I’m always there for her,” she said. “Part of me wonders, did she instigate this over the summer to fuel her story line on The Valley? Because she’s only friends with a couple of them and I’m friends with all of them. So she has beef with me and then she gets in more episodes.”

Scheana addressed her decision to keep her distance from Lala.

“I would reach out multiple times privately because I wanted to hash this out privately. I’ve seen people saying this was manufactured for a story line and there is no truth to that. But I feel like the podcast episode that she just put out was purely performative,” Scheana said. “It’s one thing behind closed doors and one thing in front of the cameras and it’s just frustrating.”

She continued: “I’ve always had a soft spot for her and it is why I’ve put up with a lot of struggles in this friendship over the years. I know there is a good person there. You’re not always a good friend but I can forgive. I can move on but if we’re gonna do that then we need to put the full truth out there. You need to take full accountability. I found myself in the biggest thing I’ve ever done professionally and I’m just getting weighed down by Lala’s emotional manipulation yet again. There’s never going to be accountability in this friendship. The real issue in this friendship is not that Lala changed, it is that I’ve changed.”

November 2025

During BravoCon 2025, it was confirmed that Lala was joining the cast — but Scheana wouldn’t after last minute conversations caused her to pull out. Lala, however, chose not to speak on the topic of Scheana.

“I have nothing to say about her,” Lala told Us.

Export Development Fund (EDF) says Malawi’s Trade Gap continues to Widen as Imports Outpace Exports

By Dorica Mtenje

LILONGWE (MaraviPost): Malawi continues to import more than it exports, with the country’s imports recorded at 958,497 and exports at 3,314,860 representing just 0.004 percent of global trade.

This was revealed in the report produced by Export Development Fund (EDF)during the launch of the inaugural Malawi Trade Report 2025 in Lilongwe.

In his remarks,Export Development Fund (EDF) Board Chairperson Ted Nankhumwa
noted that Malawi has significant unexploited export potential, stressing that improved fuel availability would help boost production and enhance export capacity.

He said Malawi has the potential to increase exports worth USD 203 million in Eastern Africa and USD 166 million in Southern Africa if strategic trade barriers are addressed.

He emphasized the need for coordinated national efforts to strengthen Malawi’s export base and reduce the widening trade deficit.

Nankhumwa said Malawi remains heavily reliant on agricultural exports, noting that diversification and value addition are essential to narrowing the trade gap.

Nankhumwa highlighted that Malawi’s exports currently stand at US$958.5 million, representing 7.1 percent of the country’s GDP and only 0.36 percent of Africa’s total exports.

He further noted that Malawi contributes just US$4 for every US$100,000 traded globally, underscoring the need for strategic interventions to boost export performance.

Launching the report, Minister of Industrialization, Business, Trade and Tourism George Partridge said the inaugural Malawi Trade Report will enable his ministry to better monitor the country’s widening trade gap and make informed policy decisions.

Partridge noted that the report aligns with the National Planning Commission’s projections, and will support government efforts to track progress on key economic indicators.

“This report gives us a clearer picture of where Malawi stands and where urgent interventions are needed,” he said.

He emphasized that economic diversification is no longer optional for Malawi, but a crucial step toward strengthening the country’s resilience against external shocks.

According to the minister, relying heavily on a narrow range of commodities exposes Malawi to global market fluctuations.

Partridge further highlighted the government’s commitment to identifying new markets and maximizing opportunities within regional blocs such as SADC, COMESA, and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

“Our task as government is to find markets and leverage regional trade platforms. Policy alone is not enough; we must ensure that businesses can access and compete in these markets,” he added.

The minister also stressed the need for improved infrastructure, streamlined export procedures, and enhanced private sector partnerships to raise the country’s export competitiveness.

He also commended the Export Development Fund (EDF) for its continued support, noting that the institution has played a critical role in helping government develop new export-driven initiatives such as the establishment of mega farms.

The launch was themed at driving Malawi’s international competitiveness and promoting inclusive growth.

The report was produced by the EDF in collaboration with the University of Malawi (UNIMA).

New York Jets’ Kris Boyd Has Bullet Lodged in Lung Following Shooting: Report

New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd reportedly remains hospitalized with a bullet lodged in his lung after being shot in the early hours of Sunday, November 16, in Manhattan.

ABC News reported on Monday, November 17, that Boyd, 29, continues to be treated at Bellevue Hospital, describing his condition as critical but stable.

Boyd was involved in an incident outside the Sei Less restaurant in Midtown Manhattan early Sunday morning and was shot just after 2 a.m., police officials said.

According to ABC News, the athlete has undergone several medical procedures after being shot through the abdomen. The bullet remained lodged in his lung as of Monday, said the outlet, citing law enforcement sources.

Denver Broncos Player Josh Reynolds Shot Twice Leaving a Local Strip Club

“We are aware of the situation involving Kris Boyd and will have no further comment at this time,” a Jets spokesperson previously told ESPN.

Earlier on Monday, the New York Police Department released two images of a person of interest in the shooting.

The person “is described as male, medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a black cap, black sweatshirt, black pants, multicolored sneakers, and carrying a black bookbag,” the NYPD said.

Boyd’s Jets teammates expressed their shock over the shooting as they returned to training on Monday.

Dallas Cowboys Defensive End Marshawn Kneeland Dead at 24

“I know some players who’ve communicated with him, I personally have not,” defensive tackle Harrison Phillips, 29, told the Jets’ official website.

Phillips, who previously played with Boyd when they were both signed to the Minnesota Vikings in 2022, added, “I just know there’s been a lot of answered prayers. It’s a blessing to know that he’s in stable condition, surrounded by his family with a lot of support around him, definitely for where the news originally was reported. There’s a lot of panic and a lot of emotion that goes into that. Not to lighten the situation, but I think people are … we’re a little more grateful knowing that he’s in stable condition now.”

“I’ll say something about KB, though … just such an energetic, such a positive person,” Phillips added. “And that year in ’22 we spent together, he was someone – as I was a new person [after four seasons with Buffalo] – who welcomed me with open arms, because he’s just so positive, wanting to know everybody, playing games, joking all the time. And even my time here with him, he’s still got that upbeat positivity, even while being on IR [injured reserve]. And I can’t wait to see a smile on his face again.”

Jets tight end Jeremy Ruckert, 25, told the team’s official website, “It’s tough news to hear. You know, one of our guys, and you know we’re all thinking of him and wishing him well, and his family. So other than that, we’re going to keep everything in-house about what’s going on. Just thinking of him and his family.”

“So it’s time for us to come together … and hopefully everything will be alright,” Ruckert added.

Linebacker Jermaine Johnson shared in an X post on Sunday, “Everybody please send prayers to my brother and teammate Kris Boyd and his family!!! Lord please hold your healing hand over Kris and guide him back to health and safety. Lord I ask that you please just get him through this safely. In your name, Amen🙏🏾.”

‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ Returns After Cleto Escobedo III’s Death, Band Renamed

Jimmy Kimmel Live! returned to ABC on Monday, November 17, following the death of host Jimmy Kimmel’s longtime friend and the show’s bandleader, Cleto Escobedo III.

Kimmel, 58, welcomed guests including Samuel L. Jackson and comedian Ms. Pat on Monday’s program, which also saw the house band previously known as Cleto and the Cletones billed simply as The Cletones in the show’s opening, per LateNighter.com.

The late night talk show host mourned the death of his childhood friend on the November 11 episode of Live! before taking the rest of last week off.

Escobedo died on November 11 at age 59. According to a death certificate obtained by TMZ on Friday, November 14, Escobedo died from “cardiogenic shock as the immediate cause of death with vasodilatory shock, disseminated intravascular coagulation and alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver as the underlying causes.”

Who Is Cleto Escobedo? What to Know About Jimmy Kimmel’s Late Friend

During an emotional opening monologue last Tuesday, Kimmel remembered his friend through tears, noting that he’s “had to do some hard monologues” on his talk show, “but this one’s the hardest, because late last night, early this morning, we lost someone very special who was much too young to go.”

Escobedo was the bandleader of Kimmel’s house band since Jimmy Kimmel Live! premiered in January 2023. His father, Cleto Escobedo Sr., is also part of the band.

“I wanted Cleto to lead my band. … The idea that anyone other than him would lead the band was terrifying. It had to be him,” the comedian said in his tribute. “I was so scared they would say no and I would have to have another band. I had to work up the nerve to bring it up. Because I knew [saying], ‘My best friend from growing up plays the saxophone, he could lead the band,’ wasn’t a great pitch.”

Celebrities React to Death of Jimmy Kimmel’s Bandleader Cleto Escobedo III

“Not only did I want Cleto to lead the band, I wanted his dad to be in the band,” Kimmel continued, noting that the Escobedos then auditioned for an ABC executive who quickly signed off on hiring them. “We’ve been working together every day for almost 23 years now,” Kimmel said.

“I’ve always said the single best thing about doing this show was getting the opportunity to allow Cleto Sr. to pick up where he left off in 1966 and become a musician again, with his son,” Kimmel said. “Cleto Sr. and his mom, Sylvia, have been like my second parents since I was in the 4th grade. I’ve known them 47 years and these people have never once yelled at me. Not one time. They are the best people.”

“It’s just not fair,” Kimmel said. “He was the nicest, most humble, kind and always funny person,” he added.

Kimmel announced Escobedo’s death in an Instagram post earlier on November 11.

“Early this morning, we lost a great friend, father, son, musician and man, my longtime bandleader Cleto Escobedo III,” he wrote. “To say that we are heartbroken is an understatement. Cleto and I have been inseparable since I was nine years old. The fact that we got to work together every day is a dream neither of us could ever have imagined would come true. Cherish your friends and please keep Cleto’s wife, children and parents in your prayers.”
