Chances are if your favorite show felt different over the years, a showrunner shift occurred at some point behind the scenes.
Law & Order: Organized Crime attempted to solidify itself as a successful spinoff of Law & Order: SVU but instead it has continued to make headlines for numerous showrunners exiting the series. The police procedural, which premiered in 2021 on NBC, stars Christopher Meloni as Elliot Stabler, reprising his role from SVU.
By the time the show was renewed for its fifth season — and moved to Peacock — it had gone through seven showrunner changes. No official statement was made about the numerous swaps in the writers’ room.
Meanwhile, The Handmaid’s Tale became a household name with Bruce Miller at the helm. The hit series then faced a shakeup right before its sixth and final season when Miller stepped down as showrunner. He remained a writer and executive producer but passed on his duties to executive producers Eric Tuchman and Yahlin Chang.

David Reed will take over as showrunner in season 3, replacing Michael Jonathan Smith, who ran the series for its first two seasons.
When Stabler got his own show in 2020, Matt Olmstead took on the role of showrunner but ultimately stepped down later that year. He was replaced by Ilene Chaiken, who remained on the show for one season before Barry O’Brien took over. Bryan Goluboff became the showrunner for season 3 but left after three months. He was replaced by Sean Jablonski, who left due to “creative differences” and David Graziano took over for the final episodes of the season. After Law & Order: Organized Crime was renewed for a fourth season, John Shiban was brought on as the newest showrunner but he didn’t stick around and Olmstead was brought back to finish up the scripts as an executive producer.
When the show was first in development, Chaiken was meant to run the show but Showtime passed on the pilot. Miller became the official showrunner once Hulu picked up the series and remained at the helm until the final season. Miller stepped down in order to focus on adapting The Testaments and Tuchman and Chang were named co-showrunners for the sixth and final season.
After Netflix announced a reimagined live-action remake of Avatar, creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko were named as showrunners. They departed the series in 2020 due to creative differences and Albert Kim came onboard instead. Kim stepped down after the show was renewed and Christine Boylan and Jabbar Raisani became showrunners for the second and third seasons.
The Fox sitcom, which starred Mayim Bialik, hired Darlene Hunt as a showrunner, which lasted for one season until Alissa Neubauer took over. Jim Patterson and Maria Ferrari were announced as the new showrunners for the third season, which turned out to be the show’s last.
TV Shows That Changed Their Premise: From ‘Scrubs’ to ‘Saved by the Bell’
Amy B. Harris was originally set to be the showrunner in 2016 but stepped down after Designated Survivor was officially picked up. Jon Harmon Feldman replaced Harris until Jeff Melvoin came on to supervise the second half of the first season. From there, writer Keith Eisner took over until the show was canceled on ABC. Netflix revived the series, which paved the way for Neal Baer to be named showrunner.
The post-apocalyptic series premiered in 2010 with Frank Darabont at the helm. He departed after one season and Glen Mazzara took over until season 3. Scott M. Gimple was promoted to showrunner for four seasons until he became Chief Content Officer of the entire Walking Dead franchise and Angela Kang replaced him in the writers’ room.
The political series was created by Aaron Sorkin in 1999 and he remained with the show until the fifth season. After his departure, John Wells remained the sole executive producer and showrunner until the 2006 series finale.
Considering how long Grey’s Anatomy has been on the air, it makes sense that there have been some changes behind the scenes. Shonda Rhimes was the original showrunner for five seasons until Krista Vernoff joined her at the helm. One season later, Rhimes was began working alongside Tony Phelan and Joan Rater and the pair remained in charge when Rhimes stepped down to focus on other projects. From seasons 11 to 13, Stacy Mckee and William Harper were the showrunners before Mckee left and Vernoff returned. Vernoff was subsequently the sole showrunner from seasons 16 to 19 until Meg Marinis took over.
Before Supernatural was picked up by The CW, creator Eric Kripke was developing the show for nearly 10 years. He remained as the showrunner until season 6, which is when Sera Gamble took over. Jeremy Carver was the sole showrunner from seasons 8 to 11 before turning control over to Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb for the remainder of its run.
‘Boston Blue’ ‘FBI’ and More TV Shows That Recast Characters
Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino were at the helm until failed contract negotiations caused them to leave after six seasons. David Rosenthal took over for the seventh and final season but ultimately it wasn’t the same. Sherman-Palladino ultimately returned for the four-part miniseries revival Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.
Greg Daniels developed the show and served as the showrunner for the first four seasons before leaving for Parks and Recreation. Paul Lieberstein and Jennifer Celotta were named the showrunners for season 5 but Celotta left the series one season later. Lieberstein stayed on for the following two seasons then briefly left to work on a potential spinoff. Daniels returned as showrunner for the ninth and final season.
After basing the script on his experiences, Dan Harmon was the showrunner for four seasons. He was briefly replaced by writers David Guarascio and Moses Port before returning one year later.
Created by Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David, Seinfeld was run by David for seven seasons. His exit led to Seinfeld — who also starred on the show — to take over for two more years until the 1998 series finale.
Kevin Williamson left after the first season to focus on another show, which meant Alex Gansa became the new showrunner. A production shutdown — due to the cast’s frustration with the story lines — led to Gansa being replaced by Greg Berlanti in season 3.

Former adult film star Jenna Jameson found her match in partner Mil R. Ocampo, who has embraced her spiritual journey.
“I think the most beautiful part about her is [that] she has been a devout Christian the better part of her life,” Jameson, 51, exclusively told Us Weekly. “She never once pushed her faith on me. Jameson (real name Jenna Marie Massoli) hard-launched her relationship with Ocampo earlier this year, sharing a selfie of the couple at the time via Instagram. While reflecting on their romance, Jameson gushed that things are going “better than I ever thought possible.”
“I’m at peace and incredibly happy, she understands me,” Jameson said, noting that she and Ocampo “love going on camping trips, antique hunting and she smiles and patiently waits while I shop.”

“I’ve had a fringe few that have had rotten things to say about my past, and my sexuality, but I know in my heart that Jesus loves me fully, even in my brokenness,” Jameson said. “I was overwhelmed by the beautiful outpouring of love from so many of my followers, and even from well-known pastors with a huge reach.”
Jameson now belongs to a “fantastic” church.
“I have had quite a few people that supported my early work send me hateful messages, but that is how I know I’m on the right track,” she said. “I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but … if you know me, you know I fear nothing. I know being saved is an important milestone in my life and it’s imperative for me to share it, if only to give others hope.”

Summer House’s West Wilson won’t let one fan’s comment ruin his BravoCon 2025 experience.
After Bravo wrapped its three-day fan convention in Las Vegas, one social media user spoke out about some alleged feedback they heard from attendees.
“I’m not sure if I just completely missed them, but it seemed like West and Jesse didn’t spend a lot of time with fans/in the crowd/in the VIP room. They were there for the celebs imo,” one account wrote via X on Monday, November 17. “Both made it painfully clear on the panels that they’re single. #BravoCon.”
Hours later, the fan account shared an “update” on how the two Summer House stars allegedly behaved in Sin City.

“Update: a few fans saw them at a panel and got pics. I missed them!” the post read. “I still don’t think they did enough though.”
Before flying back to the East Coast, West, 30, saw the posts and decided to defend himself.

While Jesse Solomon didn’t address the X post specifically, he reflected on the weekend on another social media platform.
“Met a lot of amazing people this weekend and felt the love in a big way,” he wrote via Instagram on Monday. “BravoCon was such a special and well put together event — something I’ll never forget. Incredibly grateful to be a part of this amazing family with the best fans in the world 🫶🏼.”
It was a jam-packed weekend for West and his Summer House cast members as fans eagerly wait for season 10.
During the Summer House Always Wins panel presented by T-Mobile, West said he finally found his voice in the house. And yes, that included having an important conversation with costar and former fling Ciara Miller.
At another point in the weekend, West participated in the Battle of the Sexes panel presented by Clorox. When asked if anything was going on between him and Next Gen NYC star Ariana Biermann, West squashed the speculation.

“I just sat across from her and at a panel, I was like, ‘This woman is very, very pretty,’” he exclusively told Us Weekly. “I won’t walk it back. She’s a very pretty person.”

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The former information minister and legislator for Dedza Moses Kunkuyu has urged President Peter Mutharika’s government to halt the burial of Dr. Victoria Bobe until all investigations into her death are thoroughly completed.
Kunkuyu expressed concern in Parliament that scheduling the burial for tomorrow may compromise crucial forensic processes needed to establish the truth behind her killing.
Responding to the concerns, Minister of Homeland Security Peter Mkhitho said he is expecting an update on Tuesday evening from both the police and medical teams handling the case.
The discussion was initiated by Blantyre Soche MP Fredo Kalua, who pressed the minister to act swiftly and ensure full transparency in the ongoing inquiry.
Dr Bobe, who worked for Queens Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre was brutally murdered in her house on Monday night by unknown assailants.

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has delegated First Vice President Jane Ansah to be responsible for Disaster Management and Prevention.
The President has also assigned Second Vice President Enock Kamzingeni Chihana the role of championing the completion of Mombera University.
A statement from the Chief Secretary to the Government notes that the Second Vice President will work closely with the ministries responsible for Education, Finance, Transport, Public Works, and other relevant departments.
The statement further mentions that additional delegations will be made to both vice presidents as the need arises.
These appointments reflect the government’s strategy to leverage the offices of the vice presidents to address critical national priorities.

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The 2025 SeedCo Malawi Golf Open Championship has attracted about 450 golfers, including 80 women, expected to take to the green course.
The annual golf tournament is slated for November 26 to 30 at Lilongwe Golf Club in the capital.
SeedCo Limited’s Managing Director, Boyd Luwe told the news conference on Tuesday that, “This year’s championship the company has pumped in to the tune US$20,000”.
Luwe adds, “This event is so special as the company celebrates 25 years of service to Malawi since 2000”.
To spice up the event Luwe discloses, “Artists; Zeze Kingston, Temwa, Driemo, Onesmus and Eli Njuchi will perform simultaneously during the five days of the tournament”.
In his remarks, Professional Golfers Association president, General Henry O’dillo ( Retired) says the championship has attracted players from Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
Echoing the same, Gift Kawamba, Golf Union of Malawi president, says the open championship is used to produce the national order of merit, the standard method of ranking players.
This is the fifth edition for SeedCo to host the championship which has also attracted 60 international golfers drawn from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and among others.
