Sydney Sweeney Reveals How She Lost 30 Lbs in Under 2 Months

Sydney Sweeney is pulling back the curtain on how she was able to quickly lose the weight she gained for her role in the new film, Christy.

“I had to be really strict with myself,” the actress, 28, said of her dieting plan after wrapping Christy in an interview with People published on Monday, December 10. “When I was training, it was really hard to put on all the weight.”

Sweeney previously shared that she had gained 30 pounds while training to portray boxer Christy Martin.

“I was eating so much food. Like, everything you could possibly imagine,” she continued. “And then I was downing protein shake after protein shake and taking a lot of creatine, which just makes you bloat.”

After wrapping up Christy, Sweeney had seven weeks before production began on her next movie, The Housemaid, premiering on December 19. Sweeney also returned to film her hit TV series Euphoria, which began production for season 3 earlier this year.

To get back to her natural shape, Sweeney “stopped” all of her previous training methods.

“When you stop working out and taking all your protein shakes, you lose muscle super fast,” she explained. “It’s the first thing to go before fat. So, that I dropped within two weeks.”

On top of quitting her training routine, Sweeney also followed a “super clean” diet and performed “a lot of cardio.” The Anyone But You star credited her quick weight loss to her metabolism, which she explained “works really well.

“I don’t want to say this is super easy,” she said about her rapid weight loss. “But I’ve been a very active person my entire life. Like, I was a super active kid, and I’ve always kind of just stayed active and always had a good metabolism. I can gain weight, but I can lose it too.”

While Sweeney admitted she can morph her body for a role, “this might be the one and only” time she agrees to put herself through such a drastic physical change..

Earlier this year, Sweeney opened up about her transformation process for Christy a biopic that follows the life of Martin, who overcame an abusive ex-husband while becoming America’s best-known female boxer. The Euphoria star revealed in June that her body was “completely different” after training for “three and a half months.”

“I didn’t fit in any of my clothes,” she told W magazine at the time. “I’m usually a size 23 in jeans, and I was wearing a size 27. My boobs got bigger. And my butt got huge. It was crazy!”

Sweeney continued, “But it was amazing: I was so strong, like crazy strong.”

During her training period, Sweeney shared that she was inspired by Martin’s strength and tenacity.

“Christy’s story is beyond important to tell. She is inspiring and an ultimate underdog. She completely changed the way that women in sports and boxing have gone on in time past her,” Sweeney said in an October interview with SiriusXM. “I knew that every single detail that was going to go into this, every choice that I made, was going to be an important one. Having Christy by my side during it was the biggest gift I could have asked for.”

Christy is in theaters now.

Lilongwe woman Bertha Chikuni for stealing at a funeral

By Innocent Manda

LILONGWE-(MANA)-The Malawi Police at Kanengo station in Lilongwe have arrested a 37-year-old woman, Bertha Chikuni, for allegedly stealing two mobile phones worth over MK800,000 at a funeral vigil in Area 25A.

According to Kanengo Police Public Relations Officer, Sub Inspector Gresham Ngwira, the suspect was arrested following complaints from two mourners who reported missing phones during the vigil on November 6, 2025.

“The victims discovered that their phones had gone missing the following morning, prompting immediate investigations that led to the arrest of the suspect,” Ngwira said.

Ngwira said the suspect was traced to her residence in Area 50, where police recovered the stolen phones before she could sell them to unsuspecting buyers.

“Our officers acted swiftly upon receiving the report. During the search, both the Samsung and Itel smartphones were found in the suspect’s possession,” he said.

Police investigations have revealed that the suspect has been targeting funeral gatherings and other social events, where she takes advantage of people to steal their property.

“Preliminary findings show that this is not the first time she has committed such crimes, as she has been frequenting funerals and other gatherings to steal from unsuspecting people,” Ngwira explained.

Police have since advised members of the public to remain vigilant when attending gatherings such as funerals or worship services, where thieves often take advantage of the situation.

Chikuni, who hails from Mthunzi Village in the area of Traditional Authority Kayembe in Dowa, will appear in court soon to answer theft charges.

Algeria plot bold move to Lure Ethan Mbappé after AFCON 2025

ALGIERS-(MaraviPost)-Algeria are quietly preparing one of their most ambitious recruitment drives in recent years, with the country’s football federation reportedly targeting PSG youngster Ethan Mbappé for a surprise national team switch once the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations wraps up.

The Football Association of Algeria, officials are mapping out a long term strategy to convince the 17-year-old midfielder to follow his roots and wear the green and white.

The approach is expected to lean heavily on family influence, particularly the role of his mother, Fayza Lamari, who has deep Algerian heritage and has been instrumental in guiding both Ethan and his older brother, Kylian, throughout their careers.

Algeria FA officials believe Lamari’s bond with Algeria could unlock a rare opportunity to secure one of the most promising talents emerging from France’s football system.

His voice has been central to major decisions in the Mbappé household, including contract renewals, sponsorship deals and career transitions.

What is making Algeria optimistic is the brutal competition within the French national team setup.

With Les Bleus stacked with elite midfielders and attacking prospects, breaking into the senior squad could take Ethan years, even if his development continues on its current upward trajectory.

That reality has reportedly left the door slightly open for a second national identity a scenario Algeria are eager to explore.

The timing of the move is no Algeria FA insiders say they want to create a fresh identity for the national team after AFCON 2025, where the Desert Foxes are under pressure to rebuild following recent struggles in major tournaments.

Adding a high-profile, internationally recognized young star would boost both the team’s sporting ambitions and the federation’s global profile.

Algeria has attempted similar switches before, targeting players with dual nationality to blend diaspora talent with local development. Some efforts succeeded, others collapsed under the weight of pressure from France or club influence.

Securing an Mbappé, however, would be a level of recruitment the country has never achieved.

Former veep Usi backs Mutharika’s “4Fs” agenda — Food, Fertilizer, Fuel, Forex

…Usi calls on Malawians to take an active role in supporting President Mutharika’s national recovery priorities, pledging to complement government efforts through community-based initiatives.

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Former Vice President Michael Usi has called on all Malawians to play an active role in supporting the “4Fs” — Food, Fertilizer, Fuel, and Forex — which President Arthur Peter Mutharika has identified as the nation’s top priorities for economic recovery and stability.

Speaking during a farm inputs distribution exercise in Chiradzulu on Tuesday, Usi said the four areas represent the foundation of Malawi’s development and self-reliance.

He explained that addressing challenges in these sectors would help the country overcome persistent food insecurity, high commodity prices, and financial constraints related to foreign exchange shortages.

Usi emphasized that his decision to distribute fertilizer and other farming inputs to the less privileged was part of his personal commitment to complement government efforts in ensuring national food security.

“The issue of hunger is not a government problem alone,” he said. “It is a national responsibility. Every Malawian must take part in producing food and protecting our resources.”

He said his initiative aims to empower smallholder farmers with the tools and knowledge they need to increase productivity, reduce dependency on external aid, and improve livelihoods.

The former vice president also urged citizens to embrace responsible fuel consumption and efficient use of forex, stressing that careful management of foreign exchange reserves is key to long-term economic resilience.

Usi praised President Mutharika for identifying the 4Fs as the pillars of national transformation, saying the framework provides a clear roadmap for reviving the economy and restoring Malawi’s self-sufficiency.

He noted that food security begins with ensuring that every household has access to affordable fertilizer and quality seed, while prudent forex management safeguards the country’s economic stability.

He also called on private sector players, faith-based organizations, and development partners to join hands with government in implementing the 4Fs strategy, arguing that development requires collective effort rather than political division.

Usi’s remarks have been widely viewed as a gesture of unity and a sign of renewed cooperation between political leaders toward addressing the country’s pressing socio-economic challenges.

Community leaders in Chiradzulu commended Usi for his continued support of rural farmers, describing his efforts as practical and people-centered.

Many of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude for receiving fertilizer and farming inputs, saying such assistance would help them prepare adequately for the upcoming farming season.

As Malawi continues to grapple with the effects of climate change, rising input costs, and fluctuating fuel prices, Usi’s message resonates as a call for shared responsibility in building a resilient and self-sustaining nation.

The 4Fs initiative, now gaining momentum, is increasingly being viewed as a cornerstone of Malawi’s development agenda — linking agriculture, energy, and foreign exchange management in the pursuit of national stability and prosperity.

Marshawn Kneeland’s Girlfriend Breaks Her Silence Over Cowboys Star’s Death

The girlfriend of late Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland broke her silence after the NFL star’s sudden death.

“I’m grieving hard right now,” Catalina Mancera told the Daily Mail on Monday, November 10. “It will be a long time before I’ll feel ready to talk at any length.”

Mancera, 22, called the police the night before Kneeland’s death on the morning of Thursday, November 6. She expressed concern over Kneeland’s well-being, telling authorities her boyfriend had “a history of mental illness.”

After a brief police chase, Kneeland was found near his abandoned car on the Dallas Parkway, dead of an apparent suicide. He was 24 years old.

Cowboys’ Marshawn Kneeland Was Worried About Going to Prison Before Death

“We’re still in the early stages of everything,” Mancera added. “We are working on the funeral arrangements. I don’t know where it’s going to be yet.”

Kneeland was also survived by his father, Shawn, who is currently incarcerated in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and his three siblings: brothers, AJ and Shawn Jr., and sister, Yahmya

The football star’s mother, Wendy, died in February 2024, just two months before he was selected in the second round by the Cowboys in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Mancera, a fashion designer, has been staying at the Plano, Texas, apartment where Kneeland lived prior to his death.

Nicole Kneeland-Woods, Marshawn’s cousin, told the Daily Mail that the NFL player started dating Mancera while he was a student-athlete at Western Michigan University.

“Marshawn shared a very special relationship with Catalina, whom he had been with since his sophomore year of college,” she said. “They supported each other through many stages of life. Catalina is an important part of our family and she’s hurting deeply too.”

Despite what 911 dispatchers allege Catalina told them, Nicole said, “There were no previous signs or indications that Marshawn was dealing with mental issues.”

“Marshawn was a strong, loving person who cared deeply about his family and everyone around him,” Nicole added.

In addition to the death of his mother, Marshawn also lost his grandfather in 2023, which Nicole said was “was incredibly hard for him.”

“But beyond that grief, Marshawn didn’t show signs of depression or mental health issues,” Nicole explained. “Our family is devastated and still trying to process something that feels unimaginable. We want people to remember Marshawn for his kindness, his sense of humor and his drive. He was loved deeply and that love will always be his legacy.”

Former Coach of Marshawn Kneeland Recalls Final Chat Days Before His Death

Dallas Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones, broke his silence about Marshawn’s death on Tuesday, November 11.

“I think we all have unfettered feelings about the people we love, people we work with, and this is just a time when you acknowledge that there’s no answers,” Jones, 83, said on Dallas’ 105.3 The Fan. “It makes you want to live life to the fullest. It makes you want to look for the very best in what we have for each other. And in some way make sense out of these times in terms of what they can mean from helping those that are here on earth right now.”

Jones added, “All of those things are very natural, come to mind, but his death is such a national awareness thing that it takes on some of that light when we think about how we go forward.”

‘Dancing With the Stars’ Hosts Through the Years

The Dancing With the Stars showrunners caused a stir when they replaced hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews with Tyra Banks in July 2020 — but it wasn’t the first time the role had a change of guards.

Bergeron served as the constant host for the dance competition from its 2005 debut through season 28, which aired in 2019.

He had his fair share of cohosts before Andrews came on board in 2014 starting with season 18 — but their partnership eventually became synonymous with the show after working together for 11 seasons.

While Bergeron and Andrews’ departure was a surprise, Andrews exclusively told Us Weekly in November 2021 that it was a blessing in disguise. “They wanted to go a different direction, and they’re doing that now. So, hopefully they’re happy,” she said at the time.

Banks, meanwhile, was joined by Alfonso Ribeiro as cohost in 2022. She exited DWTS the following year when Julianne Hough was tapped for season 32.

In November 2025, Bergeron announced he would return to DWTS as a guest judge for the show’s 20th Birthday Party episode.
