..The 45-year-old singer, known for his controversial past and redemption journey, is heartbroken after losing his young child to illness.
LUSAKA-(MaraviPost)-Zambian musician Clifford Dimba, popularly known as General Kanene, is mourning the tragic loss of his one-year-old child.
According to close sources, the artist’s baby passed away after a short illness, leaving the family devastated.
The 45-year-old musician, who has been trying to rebuild his life and career in recent years, was deeply attached to the child he had with his young wife, whom he married last year.
Friends and fans have flooded social media with messages of condolence, expressing sympathy and support for Kanene during this painful time.
General Kanene rose to fame with a number of hit songs that resonated with ordinary Zambians for their raw social commentary and catchy lyrics.
However, his career was overshadowed in 2015 when he was convicted and imprisoned on charges of sexual misconduct involving a minor, an incident that drew widespread public attention and debate.
After his release, Kanene made efforts to reform his image and return to music, often using his platform to speak against gender-based violence and other social ills.
The loss of his child has been described by those close to him as a heavy emotional blow, especially considering his recent attempts to live a quiet and reformed life.
As the Zambian entertainment community rallies around him, many are calling for compassion and privacy for the grieving musician and his family.
“May God comfort you, General,” one fan wrote online. “No parent should have to go through such pain.”
Kanene has not yet issued a public statement, but those who know him say he is struggling to come to terms with the heartbreaking loss.

Ramirez, 33, took to Instagram on Sunday, November 9, to share a carousel of photos from the 2025 Baby2Baby Gala, which took place the day prior in West Hollywood, California. Among the snaps from the evening were two selfies with Alba, 44.
In one image, the Honey actress wrapped her arm around her boyfriend’s shoulder as they smiled at the camera, while the other selfie showed Ramirez leaning in close to Alba and laughing.
The couple attended the event wearing matching black ensembles. Alba sported a simple, strapless gown with a silver Cartier choker necklace, while Ramirez opted for a tuxedo and bow tie. They were photographed with a few friends at the gala, including Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando Bloom and Raising Cane’s CEO Todd Graves.
“What a remarkable evening by the entire @baby2baby team and all who donated. $19.5 million raised in minutes! Helping baby2baby support for children across America and continue their vital work providing essentials to families in need. ❤️🔥,” Ramirez captioned his post.
Fans gushed over Alba and Ramirez in the comments section, with one user writing, “It’s like you 2 have always been together 🙌🙌❤️❤️.”
“Omg I’m IN LOVE with this hard launch 😭🙌,” another fan commented.

“Okay hard launch!!!! We’ve been waiting so patiently 🥹❤️👏,” a third person added.
Nearly two weeks before the gala, Alba “soft-launched” their relationship via her own Instagram by including a subtle snap of Ramirez in a photo dump from their trip to Byron Bay, Australia. The final photo of the October 26 post showed the Fantastic Four star and the Top Gun: Maverick actor from behind as they walked down a flight of stairs.
“Oh is that your boyfriend Jessica” one fan commented on the post, while another user wrote, “It’s her man – Danny Ramirez ❤️.”
Alba and Ramirez had been spotted earlier in the week walking along the beach in the Gold Coast. Photos obtained by the Daily Mail showed Ramirez lifting Alba’s hand to his mouth and kissing it. In another sweet moment, the couple shared a hug as Ramirez kissed Alba on the cheek.

Alba and Ramirez were first linked in July after they were spotted coming home to L.A. from a trip to Cancún, Mexico. Shortly afterward, a source exclusively confirmed to Us Weekly that the two were “seeing” each other but “keeping things casual.”
“They were friends before it turned romantic,” the insider shared, adding that they “have a lot of mutual friends.”
Alba and Ramirez have since been spotted out together a handful of times. They made their red carpet debut alongside a group of friends at the premiere of Valentina at the Mill Valley Film Festival in California in early October.
Alba’s romance with Ramirez comes 11 months after she announced her split from husband Cash Warren, with whom she shares kids Honor, 17, Haven, 14, and Hayes, 7. She filed for divorce from Warren, 46, in February, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split and listing their date of separation as December 27, 2024.
Amid Alba’s romance with Ramirez, Warren has been spotted with Hana Sun Doerr and Seanna Pereira.
“Jessica and Cash had conversations about dating other people while going through their separation, and agreed they were both fine with it,” a source exclusively told Us in August.
Warren expressed support for Alba’s relationship in an interview with TMZ in late July, telling the outlet, “I’m happy for her. I don’t know him, but he seems like a good guy.”
Additionally, when asked if he had been dating after the split, Warren said, “No, let me know if you got anybody.”

During a recent appearance on the “We Can Do Hard Things” podcast, the couple looked back on the aftermath of ABC abruptly pulling Jimmy Kimmel Live! off the air in September amid backlash for Kimmel’s comments about the death of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.
“We go home, and our kids are there, and we realize they have no idea what’s going on,” said McNearney, co-head writer and executive producer on Kimmel’s show. “And we had to do that thing that parents do so well, which is just immediately put on a mask. [We] asked them, ‘How was soccer today? What’s the funniest thing you heard at school today?’ We were just trying to make conversation with our children, but meanwhile, our phones are just [blowing up] the whole time in our pockets. And there’s helicopters over our house and madness outside.”
Kimmel, 57, and McNearney, 47, share daughter Jane, 11, and son Billy, 8. The comedian also has two adult children, Katherine and Kevin, from his first marriage to ex-wife Gina Maddy.
Eventually, Kimmel and McNearney realized the situation couldn’t stay under wraps for long. “Our daughter is in fifth grade, and kids talk,” McNearney explained.
The pair sat their little ones down on the couch before starting the conversation. “And we realized in that moment that any other time we’ve sat them down to talk about something, I guess it’s been good, because Jimmy said, ‘We wanna talk to you guys about something,’ and Jane [got excited],” McNearney said with a laugh.
The news that followed, however, was hard to hear. After learning what had happened to the show, Jane “immediately burst into tears” and told her parents, “I’ll sell my Labubus.”
According to McNearney, it was Billy who asked if President Donald Trump was involved. “We looked at each other and we didn’t quite know how to answer that question,” she recalled, with Kimmel admitting that he told his son yes.
“It’s certainly not an experience I had with my parents in Las Vegas,” Kimmel teased while reflecting on the conversation.
Kimmel went on to joke that Jane is convinced she’ll inherit her father’s show whenever he retires. “We’ve never said this to her, we don’t know where she got it,” he continued. “She has three other siblings, two of them are actually adults and more qualified to take over if it was indeed a family business. … She felt that she’d been somehow suspended. I’d ruined it for her.”
Overall, Kimmel and McNearney tried to reassure their kids that everything would be OK — even if they weren’t convinced of that themselves. “Jimmy and I both believed that night the show was never coming back,” McNearney confessed.
ABC announced on September 17 that Jimmy Kimmel Live! would be “preempted indefinitely” due to a controversial monologue the host delivered days prior. At the time, a source exclusively told Us Weekly employees at the show were uncertain about its future, noting that “no one [knew] what’s really going on.”
The show’s fate was ultimately revealed by the Walt Disney Company in a statement on September 22. “Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country,” the statement began. “It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”
When Kimmel returned to his show on September 23, he shed a few tears in his opening monologue and insisted he “never” intended to “make light” of Kirk’s death. (Kirk was shot and killed on September 10.)
He also thanked his viewers, many of whom canceled subscriptions to Disney+ in the wake of the suspension. “You supported our show [and] cared enough to do something about it to make your voices heard so that mine could be heard and I will never forget it,” he said.
Peacock’s All Her Fault followed a mother who uncovered shocking revelations about her family after her son disappeared in plain sight — but how did the season end?
Based on Andrea Mara‘s novel of the same name, All Her Fault began with Marissa (Sarah Snook) coming to pick up her son, Milo (Duke McCloud), from a playdate — only to find that she was tricked. The search for the 5-year-old revealed that Marissa’s friend Jenny’s (Dakota Fanning) nanny Carrie (Sophia Lillis) was to blame.
It wasn’t until Milo’s safe return and Carrie’s shocking death at Marissa’s husband Peter’s (Jake Lacy) hands that the truth was finally revealed. Carrie was actually Josephine, a woman who years prior was involved in a car crash with Marissa and Peter. Josephine and Marissa both had their newborns in their respective vehicles, but the former’s child survived while the latter’s didn’t.
“Finding his reasoning for the actions he’s taken — even though others may not agree with it — and finding the places where I’m judging him [were important],” Lacy, 39, exclusively told Us Weekly about the reveal. “But I think that he has a point where he’s completely off the rails.”
Lacy praised the show for building up to answers, adding,”Hopefully an audience maybe not agreeing with him — but understanding his reasoning — and then an episode later being like, ‘Oh, you’re a dangerous person to have around.’ That sort of dance was really fun.”
Sarah Enticknap/PEACOCK
Once Marissa found out about Peter’s actions, which also included several deaths, she formed a plan to end Peter’s life and make it look like he died from an allergic reaction. Marissa, Jenny and later Peter’s sister, Lia (Abby Elliott), were the only ones who knew the truth — in addition to Detective Alcaras (Michael Peña).
“The revelations about Peter just built and built. For Lia, it wasn’t her decision to get rid of him but she saw it happen and she knew what Peter had done,” Elliott, 38, told Us. “She knew that what Peter had done to Marissa, that was going to continue. It wasn’t going to change. That’s his character. So to allow that was her revenge — in a way — of Peter breaking her spirit for her entire life.”
All Her Fault ended on a hopeful note with Marissa raising Milo with no fear — and with Jenny by her side. But not every character made it to the end with fan-favorites such as Colin (Jay Ellis) falling victim to circumstances.
“I did get a call before I started filming and they told me that I died. I was like, ‘As long as it’s in a blaze of glory, that’s all that matters,’” Ellis, 43, shared with Us. “I actually did say, ‘As long as it’s in a really great way, then I’m cool with it.’ That was fun. That was actually a lot of fun.”
“We talked about this a lot because every scene you shoot, there’s this question of how much are you giving away and how much does the audience know in a given moment and how much do you know, but you can’t betray, right?” he explained. “So that was something that we were constantly just working on and every take, literally, it would be like, ‘Oh it feels like you might be giving too much away. Let’s just turn the dial a little bit this way or that way.’ That was a lot of fun, though.”
Ellis continued: “We would constantly also be finding things together and realizing what someone else is doing in a given moment and how you react to the thing that they’re doing even though you have your own secret, even though you’re trying to be helpful. There was a lot going on at one time.”
BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The High Court in Blantyre has dismissed a petition filed by Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) leaders Bright Msaka and MacDonald Makanjira challenging the election of Tulinje Muluzi as Member of Parliament for Machinga Likwenu Constituency.
The petition, which was filed against the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC), alleged irregularities in the electoral process.
In his ruling, Judge Jack N’riva dismissed the petition on the grounds that the petitioners failed to follow the due procedure as stipulated by law.
The judge’s ruling means that Tulinje Muluzi of the United Democratic Front (UDF) will continue to serve as the Member of Parliament for Machinga Likwenu Constituency, as declared by MEC.
The petitioners had cited several issues, including the opening and leaving of ballot papers unsealed before election day, denial of access to party monitors to verify the ballot papers, and continued campaigning by Muluzi after the official campaign period had ended.
However, the court’s decision has brought an end to the matter, at least for now.
This case is among several electoral disputes that have been filed in Malawi’s courts following the September 16 general elections.
The judiciary has been working to clear the backlog of cases, with 90 electoral cases filed and 45 disposed of as of October 24, 2025.
BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The 2025 FDH Bank Cup final between Silver Strikers and Mighty Wanderers has generated a total revenue of K112 million, according to figures released by the Football Association of Malawi.
Although the figure falls short of the record-breaking K216 million realized during the Airtel Top 8 final earlier this year, which featured Silver Strikers against FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, it’s still a significant amount that highlights the growing commercial appeal of domestic football competitions in Malawi.
The final, played yesterday at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe, saw Silver Strikers emerge victorious after beating Mighty Wanderers 5-4 on post-match penalties following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
The win will further boost the Central Bankers’ coffers with a K45 million winners’ prize, in addition to the over K22 million they pocketed from gate collections.
Mighty Wanderers, on the other hand, took home over K22 million from the gate collections, a significant boost to their financial position as the season winds down.
The revenue generated from the final is a testament to the growing popularity and commercial viability of the FDH Bank Cup.
The competition has not only brought excitement to football fans but also provided a platform for clubs to raise much-needed funds to support their operations.
With the increasing financial stakes, clubs are likely to benefit from improved infrastructure, player welfare, and talent development, both locally and internationally.
Silver Strikers’ triumph in the final will undoubtedly spur them on to greater heights, while Mighty Wanderers will be looking to regroup and bounce back stronger in their next outing.
