Chicks for fattening record a 20.7% increase in June

The number of chicks used for fattening increased by 20.7% year-on-year in June, according to the Statistical Service.

Specifically, chicks used for fattening reached 1,458,490 in June, compared with 1,208,290 in June of last year.

Meanwhile, the number of female chicks intended for egg laying recorded a marginal 0.2% decline in June, falling to 60,670 from 60,780 in June 2025.

As for poultry eggs for hatching placed in incubation for egg-laying purposes, they recorded a 38.1% year-on-year decrease in June, dropping to 82,650 from 133,500 a year earlier.

In contrast, hatching eggs placed in incubators for meat production increased by 15.5%, reaching 1,843,260 in June, compared with 1,595,470 in June 2025.
