Foreign Ministers of Cyprus and the UK committed on Monday to advance the strategic dialogue and further strengthen bilateral relations.
According to a post by Cyprus’ Foreign Ministry, Minister Constantinos Kombos had a constructive first telephone call with UK’s recently appointed Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, Yvette Cooper. According to the post, Kombos warmly congratulated Cooper on her appointment and wished her every success.
“The mutual commitment to advancing the Strategic Dialogue and further strengthening Cyprus- UK relations was confirmed, also in view of the upcoming Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union,” the post reads.
Foreign Minister Kombos also updated his counterpart on the latest developments with regard to the Cyprus Issue, while they exchanged views on the developments in Middle East.
