The Deputy Shipping Minister, Marina Hadjimanoli, attended the Posidonia 2026 International Maritime Exhibition in Athens between May 31 and June 5, on the occasion of Cyprus’ participation in the event, where the Deputy Ministry was represented with a booth showcasing the Cypriot ship registry.
According to a Deputy Ministry statement, Hadjimanoli participated in activities and initiatives during the exhibition aimed at showcasing and promoting Cypriot shipping, while she visited the booths of Cypriot companies to support their business initiatives in establishing themselves in the global shipping industry.
It is noted that, in parallel, during her visit to Athens, the Deputy Minister, accompanied by officials from the Deputy Shipping Ministry, held meetings with shipping companies and shipowners as part of ongoing engagement and consultation with the shipping community, while she attended events organized by shipping companies and organizations on the sidelines of the exhibition, and also met with delegations from South Africa and the Republic of Korea, where issues of mutual interest were discussed, as well as prospects for strengthening bilateral relations in maritime transport.
It is added that on June 2, the Deputy Minister attended the opening ceremony for trading in the common shares of the Cypriot shipping company Safe Bulkers Inc, marking their simultaneous listing on the Euronext Athens stock exchange, where the Government of Greece was represented by Kostis Hatzidakis, Deputy Prime Minister.
Finally, the Deputy Shipping Minister hosted a reception on June 3 on the occasion of Posidonia 2026, attended by shipowners, executives from shipping companies, law and accounting firms, media representatives, as well as other partners of the Deputy Ministry of Shipping.
In welcoming the guests, Hadjimanoli said that despite the difficulties and uncertainties of the times, shipping continues to demonstrate its strength and resilience, thanks mainly to its people, who, with professionalism, foresight, and perseverance, continue to move forward and create prospects for growth and progress.
