The first Council of EU Finance Ministers under the Cyprus EU Presidency was chaired by Finance Minister Makis Keravnos in Brussels on Tuesday.
Keravnos told the press on Thursday that the Council addressed a number of issues, including the challenges EU economy is faced with.
In statements following a Cabinet meeting in Nicosia the Minister said that the Council of Ministers discussed serious issues such as the course of the European economy, the challenges it is faced with and the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
He said that this is an important scheme dealing with development spending and ends mid-2026, under the Cyprus Presidency.
Keravnos also said that the EU Ministers held a discussion on Ukraine financing, in relation to its needs arising from Russia’s invasion, as well as a first discussion on international developments and in particular Greenland.
