The President of the House of Representatives, Annita Demetriou, sent letters of condolence to the President of the Congress of Deputies, Francina Armengol Socias and to the President of the Senate of Spain, Pedro Rollán, following the train accident in which at least 39 people perished.
According to a statement by the Parliament, Demetriou said that with deep sorrow she was informed of the tragic accident that resulted in the loss of lives and the injury of many people.
The President of the House expresses her sincere condolences and those of all the Members of the Parliament to the families of the victims and the wish for a speedy recovery of the injured.
Demetriou conveyed a message of unwavering support and solidarity to the political leadership and the people of Spain in these very difficult times.
