Female poultry intended for egg production recorded an increase of 17.8% in 2025 compared with 2024, according to data published on Tuesday by the Statistical Service.
Specifically, in 2025 poultry for laying amounted to 657,870, compared with 558,540 in 2024.
Poultry for fattening also recorded an increase in 2025, rising by 4.4% compared with last year. In particular, numbers increased from 14,222,300 in 2024 to 14,850,360 in 2025.
In addition, hatching poultry eggs placed in incubation for both laying and meat production recorded an increase of 3.2% in 2025.
Specifically, eggs intended for laying reached 907,030, compared with 879,140, while eggs intended for meat production reached 18,588,900 in 2025, compared with 18,006,820 in 2024.
In December 2025, poultry for egg production totaled 22,310, recording a decrease of 59% compared with December 2024. Compared with the previous month, a decrease of 76% was recorded.
Poultry for fattening in December totaled 1,345,600, marking an increase of 6.1% compared with December 2024. Compared with November 2025, an increase of 13% was recorded.
Additionally, in December, 72,540 eggs were placed in incubation for laying, recording an increase of 21.9% compared with the same month in 2024, while 1,565,070 eggs were placed in incubation for meat, went up by 3.2% compared with last year.
