Palmas: Cyprus participation in Thessaloniki parade underscores ties with Greece

Cyprus Defence Minister Vasilis Palmas highlighted the close ties between Cyprus and Greece following the 28 October military parade in Thessaloniki.

He congratulated the Greek Armed Forces, the security services and all those who took part in the parade.

‘The historic ‘NO’ of 1940 continues to inspire us and reminds us of the Greek people’s commitment to the ideals of freedom and justice, as well as their steadfast dedication to defending national independence and human dignity,’ he said.

Palmas said the participation of the Republic of Cyprus in the parade with a military contingent was ‘a tangible expression of the unbreakable ties between Cyprus and Greece,’ as well as of their shared commitment to the values of freedom and democracy.

He also thanked his Greek counterpart, Nikos Dendias, for their close cooperation ‘for the broader good of Hellenism.’
