A replica of the head of “Aphrodite of Lefkolla”, a significant archaeological discovery from the area, arrived at the Municipality of Paralimni-Deryneia
In a press release, the Municipality of Paralimni-Deryneia notes that “this symbolic return to the place where this important find was discovered is a special moment” for the Municipality and “is part of the actions being developed to highlight the cultural heritage of ancient Lefkolla.”
It also mentions that the replica was created by the New Museum of Berlin and the Humboldt University of Berlin, following months of efforts and decisive contacts with the two leading institutions, aimed at the faithful representation of this unique archaeological find.
Finally, the Municipality of Paralimni-Deryneia expresses gratitude to the New Museum of Berlin and the Humboldt University of Berlin for providing the replica for free, a fact that confirms, as it states, “the strong bonds of cooperation that are being developed with international intellectual institutions and contributes significantly to the promotion of the history and cultural heritage of the area.”
