The trade deficit in the first eleven months of the year recorded an increase. According to the Statistical Service, the trade deficit was pound 7,284.3 mn in January-November 2025 compared to pound 6,385.1 mn in the corresponding period of 2024.
The Statistical Service issued Friday the foreign trade statistics for October (final data) and for November (provisional data).

Total imports of goods in November 2025 were pound 1,038.4 mn as compared to pound 1,161.4 mn in November 2024, recording a decrease of 10.6%. Imports from other EU Member States were pound 595.7 mn and from third countries pound 442.7 mn, compared to pound 657.5 mn and pound 503.9 mn respectively in November 2024.
Imports in November 2025 include the transfer of economic ownership of vessels, with total value of pound 10.0 mn as compared to pound 138.7 mn in November 2024.
Total exports of goods in November 2025 were pound 407.1 mn as compared to pound 382.9 mn in November 2024, recording an increase of 6.3%. Exports to other EU Member States were pound 106.5 mn and to third countries pound 300.6 mn, compared to pound 83.1 mn and pound 299.8 mn respectively in November 2024.
Exports in November 2025 include the transfer of economic ownership of vessels, with total value of pound 42.6 mn as compared to pound 55.5 mn in November 2024.
Total imports of goods in January-November 2025 amounted to pound 12,309.7 mn as compared to pound 11,195.9 mn in January-November 2024, recording an increase of 9.9%. Total exports of goods in January-November 2025 were pound 5,025.4 mn compared to pound 4,810.8 mn in January-November 2024, registering an increase of 4.5%.

Total imports of goods amounted to pound 1,153.8 mn in October 2025 as compared to pound 1,266.5 mn in October 2024, recording a decrease of 8.9%.
Exports of domestically produced products, including stores and provisions for ships and aircraft, were pound 247.7 mn in October 2025 as compared to pound 296.4 mn in October 2024, recording a decrease of 16.4%.
Domestic exports of industrial products, excluding stores and provisions for ships and aircraft, were pound 238.7 mn in October 2025 compared to pound 289.0 mn in October 2024. Domestic exports of agricultural products, excluding stores and provisions for ships and aircraft, were pound 7.8 mn in October 2025 compared to pound 6.1 mn in October 2024.
Exports of foreign products, including stores and provisions for ships and aircraft, were pound 143.3 mn in October 2025 as compared to pound 150.4 mn in October 2024, recording a decrease of 4.7%.
Main categories of exports of domestically produced goods for the period January-October 2025 (excl. stores and provisions for ships and aircraft), were mineral fuels and oils with value pound 2,000.8 mn, halloumi cheese with pound 309.7 mn and pharmaceutical products with pound 289.7 mn.
