The Ceylon Association of Shipping Agents (CASA) will hold its 60th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday, 24 July 2026, at the Grand Marquee, Taj Samudra Colombo.
The Diamond Jubilee AGM marks an important milestone in CASA’s history, commemorating six decades of service to Sri Lanka’s maritime industry and reaffirming the Association’s commitment to advancing the interests of the shipping agency profession.
The Annual General Meeting will bring together CASA member companies and invited representatives from the maritime, logistics and port sectors. Established in 1966, CASA is the apex representative body of shipping agents in Sri Lanka. The Association comprises the country’s leading shipping agencies, representing the majority of international shipping lines calling at Sri Lankan ports. Over the past six decades, CASA has played a pivotal role in supporting the growth and development of Sri Lanka’s maritime sector through industry advocacy, stakeholder engagement and the promotion of best practices.
CASA members provide a broad spectrum of maritime services, including liner agency, vessel agency, husbandry, crew management and related shipping services, facilitating international trade and supporting Colombo’s continued development as a premier maritime, logistics and transhipment hub.
Through its sub committees, CASA works closely with Government ministries, the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, Sri Lanka Customs and other public and private sector stakeholders to promote trade facilitation, operational efficiency, digitalisation and policies that strengthen Sri Lanka’s competitiveness as a regional maritime and logistics hub.
Looking ahead, CASA remains committed to supporting initiatives that enhance trade facilitation, accelerate digital transformation, promote sustainability and strengthen Sri Lanka’s position as a leading maritime and logistics hub in the Indian Ocean region.
As CASA celebrates its Diamond Jubilee, the 60th Annual General Meeting represents not only a statutory milestone but also an opportunity to reflect on the Association’s rich legacy and its continued contribution to the advancement of Sri Lanka’s shipping and maritime industry.
As CASA celebrates its Diamond Jubilee, the Association honours the contributions of its past leaders, members and industry partners while reaffirming its commitment to shaping the future of Sri Lanka’s maritime and logistics sector for generations to come
