Cyclone Ditwa shuts wildlife parks

The Department of Wildlife yesterday said it has closed most national parks as heavy rain, flooding and landslides linked to Cyclone Ditwah continued to claim lives and disrupt travel across multiple districts.

Horton Plains, Wasgamuwa, Kumana, Wilpattu, Minneriya and Kaudulla will remain shut to visitors until conditions improve, the Department said.

In Yala, Blocks 1 to 4 have been closed, while Block 6 accessible via the Kalupalama entrance will stay open.
