Imou Smart Life 2026 marks new chapter for Darsko in Sri Lanka’s smart security market

Darsko Ltd., brought together technology partners, dealers, resellers, system integrators and ICT industry stakeholders at Imou Smart Life 2026, showcasing Imou’s smart security and connected technology solutions for Sri Lankan homes and businesses.

Hosted for the first time in Sri Lanka, the event introduced partners to Imou’s latest product developments while exploring opportunities across the country’s evolving smart security market.

According to Imou’s corporate presentation, the company ranks third worldwide by home-camera shipments and second in Sri Lanka’s Wi-Fi camera market. The event provided an opportunity for local partners to gain a closer understanding of Imou’s product portfolio and the different applications of connected security technologies.

The event also marked a milestone in Darsko’s first year of developing the Imou brand in Sri Lanka. A sister company of IT Gallery, which has more than two decades of experience in the technology industry, Darsko has focused on building Imou’s local distribution network and creating opportunities for businesses operating in the security and technology sectors.

Among the solutions showcased at Smart Life 2026 were Wi-Fi cameras, 4G solar cameras and cameras with AI and cloud connectivity. The range provides options for different environments, from connected homes and commercial premises to locations where access to fixed power or Wi-Fi connectivity may be limited.

Wi-Fi cameras provide connected monitoring for everyday spaces, while 4G solar cameras combine cellular connectivity with solar power, making them suitable for locations where conventional power and network infrastructure may not be readily available. Cameras with AI and cloud connectivity provide additional capabilities for monitoring activity and accessing security systems remotely, depending on the model and service selected.

Darsko Managing Director/CEO Dilantha Perera said: ‘The response we have received to Imou during our first year has demonstrated that there is a strong opportunity for smart security technology in Sri Lanka. Our objective has been to build a sustainable presence for the brand while giving our partners the products, support and opportunities they need to serve a changing market. Smart Life 2026 brings that vision together by connecting the technology community with the solutions and possibilities that Imou offers.’

For dealers, resellers and system integrators, the event highlighted opportunities to expand their offerings beyond conventional CCTV installations. The range of Imou solutions allows partners to consider different combinations of connectivity, power, AI capabilities and remote access based on the requirements of individual customers and locations.

Imou South Asia Director Layne Jia said: ‘Sri Lanka is an important market for Imou, and we are pleased with the progress made with Darsko and our local partners. Our vision is to make smart technology more accessible while developing solutions that address the changing needs of consumers and businesses. By working closely with the local technology community, we can create new opportunities while bringing the benefits of connected security and smart living to more people.’

The event also demonstrated how smart security is moving beyond a single camera or surveillance system towards solutions that can be selected according to a location’s connectivity, power availability and monitoring requirements. For consumers and businesses, this provides greater flexibility in how security is deployed, while for technology partners it creates opportunities to address a wider range of applications.
