Sampath Bank and Abans Group defeated MAS Intimates by six wickets and LOLC Holding by three wickets respectively on Saturday to qualify for the final of the MCA – Honour Champions League Cricket Tournament 2026
At the DHH Sports Complex in Negombo, electing to bat first MAS Intimates anchored by half centuries from Sangeeth Shehara (66 off 74 balls) and Sasiri Adikari (69 off 63 balls) were able to post a defendable 258. Abhishek Anandakumar was the pick of the eight bowlers used by Sampath Bank with 5-30 off 6.4 overs.
In the chase, half centuries from Hansaja Bandara (65 off 81 balls) and Dulaj Ashen (60* off 85 balls) and a 33 ball 45 from Chamath Dilsara helped Sampath Bank reach the target with six wickets in hand and 8 balls remaining.
At the FTZ Grounds in Katunayake, Abans Group were able to restrict LOLC Holding to 154 runs. In the chase a run a ball 50 from Mihiranga Fernando and an unbeaten 44 off 50 balls by Shalith Fernando helped them win the game with three wickets in hand and fifteen overs remaining.
