Sri Lanka’s men’s field hockey team will compete at the Asian Games for the first time in 20 years, after being placed in Pool A for the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya, Japan 2026, alongside hosts Japan, India, Bangladesh and South Korea.
The team last featured at the Games in 2018, having withdrawn from the 2022 edition in Hangzhou.
Sri Lanka opens its campaign against Japan on Tuesday, 22 September, at 19:00 local time (15:30 IST). It then faces India on Thursday, 24 September at 11:00 local time (07:30 IST), before playing Bangladesh on Saturday, 26 September at 15:00 local time (11:30 IST). The pool stage concludes against South Korea on Monday, 28 September at 11:00 local time (07:30 IST).
Sri Lanka secured its place at the Games in April, finishing runners-up to Oman at the qualifying tournament in Bangkok.
