They arrive with six points from six, courtesy of tight 1-0 victories over Entebbe UPPC and KCCA, yet their four-game deficit leaves them chasing shadows in a table already beginning to stretch. Tonight marks the first step in chasing it down.
Eyes on Minnaert
Fortunately for Ivan Minnaert, reinforcements have arrived just in time. The returning Uganda Cranes quartet – Allan Okello, Hillary Mukundane, Rogers Torach and Denis Kigundu – inject freshness and stability into a squad that must rotate wisely.
Okello, last season’s 19-goal marvel, showed he is ready to reignite his spark with the winner against KCCA. His creativity and edge will be indispensable in this unforgiving run. If Vipers are to glide through the pile-up with authority, Okello must carry that same verve into every battle.
Maroons, though inconsistent, always demand respect. Ssenfuma’s Prison Warders sit 14th with five points from five games, an on-and-off side capable of resilience on their day.
But history tilts sharply toward Vipers: they haven’t lost to Maroons in their last ten league meetings, drawing three in the last five, and have never fallen to them at Kitende since 2017.
Add Vipers’ typically commanding home presence, and tonight becomes an opportunity to strike the right chords early.
