The commission announced the date in a timetable released on Monday, following the death of the lawmaker who previously held the seat.
In a statement signed by Mohtet Begin, Public Affairs Officer, on behalf of the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Gombe State, Alhaji Umar Mukthar Gajiran, INEC stated that the Notice of Election will be published on Thursday, August 20.
According to the commission, political parties must conduct their primaries between August 21 and 25, with the final list of nominated candidates to be published on September 8.
Campaigns are scheduled to commence on September 9 and conclude on September 17-two days before the polls.
INEC noted that the election will be conducted in accordance with Section 76(2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and other relevant provisions of the Electoral Act.
The commission urged political parties, candidates, and stakeholders to strictly adhere to the timetable and ensure all activities comply with electoral laws.
It further pledged to provide a level playing field for a free, fair, and inclusive process.
The election will take place across 903 polling units in 31 Registration Areas, covering the three local government areas that constitute the federal constituency.
INEC encouraged eligible voters to participate actively and exercise their civic responsibilities peacefully.
