Kebbi cyclist earns Guinness World Record for riding 2.9-metres-high bicycle

A young cyclist from Kebbi State, Bello Muhammad, has earned international recognition after riding a bicycle measuring 2.9 metres in height without assistance.

The achievement, recognised by Guinness World Records, was celebrated at the State Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi, where government officials commended the cyclist for showcasing the ingenuity and potential of Nigerian youths.

The Kebbi-born cyclist reportedly achieved the feat on September 22, 2026, in Kebbi State, by riding the towering bicycle unsupported.

The Patron of the Kebbi State Equity Cyclist Association, Abubakar Kalgo, said Muhammad fabricated the bicycle himself and demonstrated the skill required to mount, ride and dismount it without assistance.

While presenting the Guinness World Records certificate to the state government, Kalgo, represented by the Head of Service, TPL Malami Shekare, said the achievement is drawing attention to the creativity, determination and technical ingenuity of young people in the state.

Receiving the presentation on behalf of Governor Nasir Idris, the Head of Service congratulated the cyclist, describing the accomplishment as an inspiring example of how perseverance and innovation can translate talent into extraordinary success.

Shekare also donated N1m to the cyclist in recognition of his feat saying the achievement reinforces the importance of supporting young people and creating opportunities for them to develop their abilities.
