The death toll from a fi re at a readymade garment factory in Ashulia’s Jamgara area has risen to eight, while 35 people were injured in the incident, offi cials said.
The fi re broke out at the FandF factory of Preeti Group recently after a gas cylinder exploded while being unloaded from a covered van.
Four fi refi ghting units brought the blaze under control.
The latest victim, a vegetable vendor whose identity was not immediately known, died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
