The Imo State Government has disclosed its position on the abduction of 19 NYSC members in the state, which occurred five days ago along the Owerri-Onitsha Road.
The Imo State Commissioner for Information, Public Enlightenment and Strategy, Hon. Declan Mbadiwe Emelumba, told the Nigerian Tribune in Owerri on Monday that the government was not sleeping over the issue.
He said the state government was collaborating with security agencies in the state to ensure the safe rescue of the kidnapped victims.
He said, ‘Of course, you know that the government is not sleeping on the matter.’
He assured that the kidnapped victims would soon be released unharmed.
