Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Femi Adebayo has announced that his forthcoming epic film, Jagun Jagun 2, will premiere exclusively on Netflix on 4th December 2026.
The sequel, titled Jagun Jagun 2: War of Warriors, follows the success of the original film, released in 2023.
Adebayo announced the release date on social media, describing the production as the result of two years of work, sacrifice and challenges.
The announcement has generated anticipation among fans of the original film, which attracted attention for its action scenes, traditional Yoruba costumes and portrayal of power struggles in a historical setting.
The first instalment follows Gbotija, a young man who joins the army of a feared warlord, Ogundiji, in his quest to become a powerful warrior.
The story explores ambition, loyalty, revenge and the consequences of seeking power in a world shaped by warfare.
The film featured actors including Adebayo, Lateef Adedimeji, Odunlade Adekola, Ibrahim Yekini and Bimbo Ademoye.
It also received recognition at the 2024 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, winning Best Indigenous Language Movie (West Africa) and Best Costume Design.
The sequel is expected to build on the original production’s blend of Yoruba culture, action and historical storytelling.
Adebayo has also established himself as a producer of epic films, with King of Thieves among his notable projects.
The forthcoming release comes as Nollywood continues to explore historical stories and culturally rooted productions for local and international audiences.
However, the filmmakers have yet to disclose the complete storyline and full cast details for the sequel.
With its December release date, Jagun Jagun 2 will arrive during the festive season, when audiences often seek new entertainment.
