A 51-year-old man, Abubarkar Aliyu, has begged a Kubwa Grade 1 Area Court in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to compel his wife, Kadija Akarami, to return to him.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Aliyu told the court he went into relationship with Khadija in 2015 and got married to her on June 15, 2020.
He stated that Khadija packed out of his house on June 20, and moved to her parents’ house at Dutse Alhaji, Abuja.
‘All efforts to make her return home proved abortive.
The petitioner, however, pleaded with the court to compel his estranged wife to come back to him.
Responding, Khadija said she was no longer interested in their marriage.
‘I am no longer interested in our marriage.
‘My parents forced me into it from the beginning.’
