President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has decorated the newly appointed Service Chiefs with new ranks that suit their new roles as handlers of Nigeria’s Armed Forces.
The newly decorated Service Chiefs include Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, now General Olufemi Oluyede, as the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS); Major General, now Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, as the Chief of Army Staff (COAS).
Also, Air Vice Marshal, now Air Marshal Kevin Aneke, as the Chief of Air Staff (CAS); Rear Admiral, now Vice Admiral Idi Abbas as the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS); and Major General, now Lieutenant General Emmanuel Undiendeye as the Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI).

General Olufemi Oluyede is appointed Chief of Defence Staff, Major-General W. Shaibu becomes Chief of Army Staff, Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke is Chief of Air Staff, and Rear Admiral I. Abbas is the new Chief of Naval Staff, while Major-General E.A.P. Undiendeye retains his role as Chief of Defence Intelligence,’ the statement announcing the development quoted.
